    save your money kids
wow. i played perfect dark 64 as a child and became master of it. it was good 1st player shooter, original storyline, good weapons, realistic, and a spiritual sequel to Rareware's game Goldeneye 007. when i heard there was a sequel i was all giddy, i shouldve known better. this game serves as a prequel, with supernatural crap going on, like superpowers. this game is lousy, somewhat ok story, and impossible achievements. get 1000 kills on one multiplayer level...thats an example, no storyline achievements. i have noticed a trend however. ever since microsoft bought rareware from nintendo(microsoft had 51% shares) good games rare made went to hell. perfect dark 0-sucks. banjo kazooie nuts n bolts?! if you played and beat banjo tooie then you would agree nuts n bolts sucks and destroyed banjo kazooie. unless nintendo buys rareware back dont expect anything good from them for now. save your money whenever a perfect dark or banjo kazooie or conker game comes out on 360 and not wii(or future model).

An annoying, stupid game with LAME attempts at humor
The controls feel awkward; your character feels like she's skating sometimes, though they try to augment the movement with the sound of footsteps.

The graphics look decent, however, the characters look plastic and lame, like they're wearing makeup.

What really makes this game disgusting however, is the story and writing. The characters are truly annoying. I could see the theme they were going for here: a mix of 1960's spy movie camp with futuristic overtones and settings. It failed on all fronts. The main character looks like some annoying, arrogant super model ***** who you wouldn't pay to be around.

The dialogue is equally as bad, campy and lame. It really becomes annoying to hear anyone talk after like the 5th or 6th level. I don't even care to remember the name of them just that I was annoyed.

What is really strange is that this game's lameness sticks with you after you've gotten rid of it. It was not even worth the I paid for it (as of Dec 09)

    Perfect Dark Zero
Perfect Dark zero is a fun game. I don't know why people don't like this game, but I like it and that's what counts. It might not be better then the N644 version but its still a good game to play. The online for this game is amazing.

    allrighty then
overall good game this came out during the 360 launch and anyone who knows shooter games knows 360 has come a long way.

    Bad game
I know, this game is old, I picked it up at launch. But after seeing it under the "recommended for you" category on Amazon, I felt compelled to warn others to NOT buy this game.

As a person who LOVED Perfect Dark 64, I was thoroughly underwhelmed by this game. I cannot describe what a totally different game it is. I'm not sure if Rare lost their talent, but man- it is different, and NOT in a good way. This game has frustratingly poor level design- it's laughable. It's so bad that if you don't move for five seconds, arrows light up on the ground to send you in the right direction. That should NOT be necessary. The plot is pretty cliched- it's not helped that it's a prequel, but it IS thoroughly predictable, particularly towards the end. Of course, Carringtonn makes an appearance- with a thick Scottish accent not present in Perfect Dark 64 in any form whatsover.

Online play is extremely mediocre too.

Avoid this game. It's not worth .

Fun game and a must buy if around used!
This game is similar to Marvel Ultimate Alliance except the art is of a different style and some would say more simplified. You can play by yourself or team up and take on the bad guys, it's cool to also be able to play some 'bad' guys who cooperate with you to take down the real enemy. I got my used version of the game for about (which includes shipping) so it's a definite buy at that price level...I'm not sure if I would want to pay more than for it, however.

Action MADNESS! One of the better SPIDEY games!
Action MADNESS! One of the better SPIDEY games!

I never got the hoopla over the Spiderman games that that coincided with the movie releases. Besides the web slinging around Manhattan - that game really didnt have anything else to offer. Plus, the novelty of web slinging around the city got old real fast!

I love hack & slash games, but since the invention of 3D games hit the video game realm, there really hasnt been any stand out titles or games that offered co-op play mode.

I have to say that i really enjoyed this game. It was on sale for twenty bucks and it has two player action. So you and a buddy can team up. The visuals are not groundbreaking, but i believe they were going for a specific design with this game. Much like the Ultimate Spiderman game back on the original Xbox. I'd highly recommend adding this game to your library.

not as bad as people say
I got this game for [...]and I gotta say it was a lot better then the reviews I looked at. you start off as spiderman and you beat different bad guys. after you beat one then they join you. I felt the game was well orginized. You are asked to find certain things in the game and I felt they were placed well and you could find them relativly easy. One thing I hate the most about the "find the fill in the blank" on any game is how hard they are to find. This game was not that way. It was also an easy game to get into and learn right from the start. It was very refreashing to go from a hard game to learn (like mass effect, or Halo) to something that was straight forward.

I would say that there are things that could have been annoying. One was the camara was hard to deal with. To make the game easer they took out the ability to move the camara by yourself so the game does it for you and sometimes you cant see what you want to see. the second is the length. If I had payed 20-60 on this game i would have felt cheated because it is short but for the price I got it I felt I got it for a steal. Also its rating for the age is right on. They say on the box for ages 6+. It is set for that age group so I would say if you are looking for a harder game that is longer this is not for you.

    Good Game for a kid
This game is incredibly fun if you are younger than say, eleven. And it is fun if you like to play games like these with a younger person. I have found that if you try and play a game in Co-op with a preteen that you need to be able to either adjust the difficulty or have it be a little easier to start with. This game fills that niche. Graphics are slanted more towards the younger side and the game is just right for a smaller game fan.

    friggin cheap short term fun
First of all the fact that the game has bad graphics does not help, and what do they do they make the game too short. The location choices were terrible I think they could take the time to make good locations. The attacks are bad. Hello? New Goblin and Green Goblin cannot throw pumpkin bombs and fly on their Goblin Gliders!!!!!

    when it rains outside
skate is a great game and is the best thing since tony hawk pro skater. great for skaters and nonskaters. skaters will appreciate the physics and control, while nonskaters will have fun on the mega ramps and the overall game. great for days when it rains outside and you cant actually skate :)

    Great Amazon seller
I would defiantly buy from again, the game was used but looked brand new, there wasn't a single sign of it been taken out of the case, fast shipping and responds to emails right away with all questions fully answered. Great seller

    Skate rocks!
skate is a very fun game and is way better than the Tony Hawk games because its like real life but in the tony hawk games you can do anything wich gets boooorrriiinnnggg! I can't wait to buy skate 2 wich will probably be alot better. I hope everybody enjoys this game and happy skating!

    Can't put it down!
My son received this game for Christmas and he LOVES it. He can't seem to put it down. His friends also love to watch him play it. It has wonderful graphics.

    difficult but rewarding
Very realistic skate game. After enduring years of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater titles, it is definitely a plus to see a skateboarding game where nobody is grinding powerlines or backflipping off skyscrapers. "Skate" is a smooth and realistic package that feels (and looks) like you are right there in the streets, grinding rails and getting chased by rent-a-cops. I gotta say though, the control scheme is innovative but unforgiving. Timing is everything; simple stuff in Tony Hawk will take some patience on Skate...like grinding a rail. It is worth it though, ten times over...much more satisfying than the present competition.

    Lost Planet
Very underrated game, it doesn't as much attention as other greats but this is up there with some of the most fun games. I recommend this for anyone who likes action adventure games.

Ice Planet Combat....Check it out !

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, is one of those Games for the Xbox 360 that you either like or dislike.

with all the other awesome shooters out there like the halo series, Resistance 1 and 2, and the Gears of war series ..this title was lost in the shuffle, but that dosent mean its a bad game...In fact its NOT its great game! its a underrated gem. dont listen to those negative reviewers, grab a copy and see for yourself.

You need to sit down and give this title a chance, sure some of the control aspects could have more fine tuned but the gameplay is smooth..you get your standerd weapons etc plus the use of a grappling hook to pull yourself up the snow peaked landscape or up buildings.

The graphics on this game are stunning..sure, its set on a ice planet (think of Hoth from the empire strikes back) but there is a lot of detail, in the backgrounds, cinematics..and did i mention really HUGE enemies to take down! Lots of fun to be had here. plus, you also have giant mecha suits to do combat in...this adds a unique gameplay feature...that keeps you coming back for more.

its a short game in the single player mode...but there are lots of maps to download for Multiplayer action on Xbox live, although i havent had the chance yet..im still enjoying the single player mode... Xbox live adds extra replay value that delievers in spades.

sure the storyline may be a bit generic, but for this game it works. Lost planet isnt trying to be halo and it shows. the third person perspective, gives you that arcade feel.

its Nice to see Capcom doing some exclusive titles for the 360 (ps3 also) ive always liked what they have come up with in the past, and if they come up with a Lost Planet sequel...im there!

Bottom line, check it out..you'll be glad you did.

as for those negative reviews on this game...just think of this...did they ACTUALLY play this game? or are they just sounding off because they have nothing better to do? it makes you wonder.

An Original, Creative, and Amazing Experience
The best thing to say about this game is that it is really something else. I wanted it to be good before I got it, however when I bought it and played the first level I didn't like it at all. This was mostly due to the control scheme, which I thought was un-customizable. However after a while I came back to it and after looking for a while I discovered several adjustments that can be made. By default, the crosshair moves in a way that makes it slow and thus makes your character turn ridiculously slowly (something that throws off a LOT of people) however this can be turned completely off, by adjusting the controls you can the crosshair in the center of the screen, making the aiming feel more like a FPS and much more accurate. Once I fixed the controls to my liking, I got past the first level, and wow - the game really took off! What people need to realize is that there's a learning curve to the controls and gameplay mechanics and once they're mastered they really pay off and then some! It makes for some of the most fun and unique gameplay I've experienced in a very long time (and I play a ton of games).

The gameplay is as fun as you make it out to be. It when combined with another aspect of this game that makes it REALLY stand out is the Acrid (alien bugs found on the lost planet) makes for some of the most fun gameplay around - fighting them is more fun than anyone could expect, especially the larger ones that tower over you. Let me give you an example: there's a four-legged beast with skinny legs that will just pop out from under the snow (which is really a cool presentation, the snow effects are amazing! - but I'll get to that later), and one it's out of the snow you hear its roar/cry and it imeadately starts to swipe at you with its enormous legs an you're like "Oh s***!" Now, you could be lame and just run away from it and shoot (it will come after you but you can get away if you run long enough, it will take a lot longer to kill though) or you could fight it the fun way - utilizing all of your abilities like the grappling hook (think Link's Hookshot from the Zelda franchise). This gadget hooks onto just about any surface within range, even your larger enemies, including the Acrid I'm talking about now! When it's about to attack, you have the opportunity to roll-dodge out of the way right before it jams its enormous leg into the ground (at which point the leg will actually get stuck into the ground, and you even see the Acrid struggling to get itself free, which is really neat to watch), and while it's struggling, you can grapple onto its back and your character will hold onto it for a couple seconds, here you've got yet another range of options to do: if you have a machine gun equipped, you can unload on it, or if you're using a shotgun, fire a couple powerful blasts at close range, or (my favorite) if you happen to have sticky-grenades (which attach to whatever they hit) you can tag it with one, jump off and watch it explode.
Another great aspect of the enemies (and environment) in this game is how destructible they are, going back to that same long-legged Acrid, if you focus fire on one of its legs, you will eventually shoot it completely off! The leg will fall of the beast (with a huge splatter of yellow blood which is very satisfying), it will let off a siren-like cry and lose it's balance! All of which is amazing to watch. If you shoot off the leg parallel to that one, the giant Acrid will fall forward and with the last of its strength, push its beaten body through the snow in order to bite you with its triple-jawed mouth. It's fights like these which are truly amazing and awe-inspiring. The boss fights are INCREDIBLE, you haven't seen "big" until you've fought Lost Planet's bosses (well, maybe if you've played Shadow of the Colossus).
As I mentioned earlier, the environmental effects are outstanding. Every movement made will cause snow to flutter about and when you're inside a cave you'll witness eerie reflective lighting and stellar effects. There's also a point at which the setting of this game takes a drastic change and you get a completely different ecosystem to battle in, along with a new breed of Acrid to fight.
There really are just too many good things about this game to mention in my already too long review. It does have some flaws, however. For instance when your character gets knocked down, you lose complete control for too long, even once you're back up you still have a bit of delay before you can move out of the way. This means that if you happen to be surrounded by tons of enemies, you may get knocked on your butt continuously before you can even get out of the way, which can be frustration. But this doesn't hurt the game too much.
The multiplayer is particularly well thought out and all the innovative manners of combat from the single-player game make for remarkable multiplayer mechanics since you can use VR suits (giant mech-suits, you've seen 'em before), and you've got your grapple as well, so you can think of all sorts of ways to take out your enemy.
This game, in my book, is one of the most underrated games of all time. I don't usually write such enthusiastic reviews, but this is an exception. Just remember, this game is a as fun as you let it be, if you're lazing and prefer the easy-way-out when it comes to games, this may not be for you. But if you're a creative person and enjoy a challenge, set the game on hard (which is harder than most games on "hard") or expert (which I can't do personally) and have a blast killing aliens in your own inventive ways! I can't say everything that is great about this game, go out and play the game for yourself!

good if you like starship troopers
    Campaign Length-

People can call it short all they want, but the fact is most games these days have short singleplayer campaigns, unless it's an rpg. Especially first person and third person shooter titles. The industry keeps popping out short lived games, and we keep buying. For the record I purchased Lost Planet a few days after release, and i just beat Mission 6 yesterday. It's not because I suck, it's merely bc I don't play the game for hours on end and beat it in one sitting like many people do. For people like myself who log an hour or two a night, sometimes only a 4/7 nights of the week, the game will last quite a bit. It's really only short for those people who sat down for 10 hours and beat it in one day. If you have that much time to play in a day, you should really get into MMO's that your type of game tongue

    Graphics -

It's far from the best, however, anyone who claims the game looks "bad" is a moron. It's definitely one of the better looking titles out, not to mention keeps much steadier framerates than some other titles. The multiplayer character designs could have used some work, aside from that it's a pretty solid game visually/graphically.

    Story -

As I said, I'm only on the 6th mission, but the story has a good plot to it, however, obvious, stupid, and carless flaws and loopholes, that could have been easily fixed.

One example: Mission 4 End - Mission 5 Start- Wayne mysteriously warps back to the trailer for a cut scene and then after the scene is over he is mysteriously warped right back where he was before the cut scene.

Just little details in the story like above that just don't add up. And there are quite a few of them.

    Multiplayer -

FUN! Kinda buggy at times, but hopefully those will be worked out in time. I could do without the Fugitive game mode, and something slightly more entertaining. Leveling up and unlockable costumes characters make the multiplayer kinda addictive. Hoping to hit 20 for a new costume design soon happy

Anyway, i'd prolly give it a 8.5/10. I haven't touched GEARS since this game came out. GEARS MP is just dull compared to LP's IMHO. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing GEARS, I just prefer the large scale battles in LP to the 4v4 tactical squad battles in GEARS.

    Fun game
Great controls in this game. There are so many different things you can do and the controls are set up very well for a real-time RPG on a console.

There are so many ways you can replay this game with different character types. It is not linear by any means, but can be if you want it to. It's entirely up to how you want to play. It really sets the bar for other games of this type in many ways. The world is giant. There are so many places to go and missions to accomplish. It's crazy.

There is one big problem I see with this game: The creatures you fight get tougher as you advance in level. This is a real deterrent to making you want to level up. Imagine fighting a wolf as a new level 1 character with no problem and then getting to level 7 and having the same wolf easily kill you. As you gained 6 levels and all the experience and skills that go along with them, the wolf gets equally tough. How does a wolf train to become equally better? Does the wolf go to jujitsu school??? So as you advance, it becomes increasingly tougher just to get to your next mission location because a wolf comes up and bites you from behind and you're outta there. A wolf should not gain experience the way your character does. In just about any RPG, the wolf would maintain its level of difficulty and as you get better, killing a wolf becomes like squashing an ant. I can accept tougher creatures as you advance (ie demons, dragons, the undead, etc...), but not wolves getting tougher.

Anyhow, if you advance too quickly, the game becomes impossible. It's easier to play all the way through without advancing beyond level 3. But then you don't get to learn and use all the skills of the higher level characters. As a result, the game can become somewhat repetitive.

I heard this problem is remedied in Fallout (which uses the same game system).

In the next Oblivion, fixing this issue alone will make it so no RPG can touch it (unless someone comes up with an MMORPG version of Oblivion for the 360). But until then, it's not the greatest.

does this game really suck THIS BAD???
i've "played" this game for about 3 hours now (walking around killing wolves, digging through dungeons). yeah, it's early, but i won' tbe giving it much more attention if it doesn't get a WHOLE LOT better. i'm running around outside kvtach doing a little sword dance against tan pooh colored pointy eared guys and i can't even tell if i'm hitting them or not. they're hitting me though. load times SUCK, graphics (animations) suck, i can't be bothered with the lame-assed story line cuz i'm so fed up from the rest of the crapiness, and i had to go through shopping at Gamestop to get this ("do you have a card? wanna be a memeber? want insurance? i beat this game in two days. the best part was..."),i'd think this was a complete scam if so many people weren't over the moon about this game. what am i missing? the good news is i'm not bummed about getting th regular version now since i'll hardly be wasting any more time on this one. neat red sky though. pfft. rip off.

    WORST GAME EVER!!!
i can't believe this game is for a modern console. i played better games than this on the NES. Terrible graphics. You spend a good bit of time trying to figure out how to basic things. i rated this game a 1-star because you cannot give negative stars. Aah. i am so angy for buying this stupid game. my time would have been better spent watching paint dry. at least i could hallucinate liking this game as the paint fumes overtake me.

Beautiful Sights, but Something is Missing...
I actually forced myself to try to like this game, but when it came down to it, i just couldnt. There are many good things, but much more "bad."

    Pros:
    BEAUTIFUL landscapes
    Buying a house is nice
    Exploring is fun
    Character customization

The landscapes in this game are really well rendered. This is the only game that i have ever looked at a peak in the distance, and decided to go there just for the view from on top. I thought it was nice to be able to purchase a house to store all those items in. Being an open-world game, it is always enjoyable to just explore. Character customization was innovative for its time, and fun to mess around with. Character development was not (dont level too soon!)

    Cons:
    Very, very bland. No "soul."
Levelling system is terrible (character advancement, enemies, & loot)
    Aiming system is terrible
    Lockpicking system
    Enemy variety (lack-of)

Initially, i liked hopping around and healing everywhere. I thought it was clever and realistic. The more you do things, the better you get at them. However, it really just devolved into spamming. Then more spamming... I really dislike the "feel" of the game. It feels empty to me. There is a huge disconnect between the gamer and the character. I dont know if i can do any better to describe this, so ill stop at that. Aiming magic and arrows is just awful (it was sad to see them implement the same mechanics into Fallout 3, albeit they added V.A.T.S.) This fits into the feel of the game as well. No, i dont want Halo mechanics (i did like Combat Evolved), but it just handled really terribly. Leveled monsters and loot... This is a terrible feature, and one that should NEVER EVER be featured in a RPG. NEVER. Above that, enemies are all the same with different skins. Very, very boring. They spent all the dev time on the scenery, so it is a bit forgivable, but not including dragons is lunacy. Lockpicking is my last dig, but it didnt affect my score. I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to do it effectively. I am at a loss on that one (might have been in the manual, which i did not get with the game).

I did play about thirty or so hours. That aforementioned disconnect is what killed it for me (as well as Fallout 3). Others have called it bland and boring, which it was to me, but i feel it was more than that. The game felt outright EMPTY. Of course there were NPCs, and enemies, etc. But even in the biggest towns, the game just felt dead.

I think when it comes down to it, people just like different games. The best way to put it is with an analogy. If you like cars that look pretty, with amazing paint jobs, great lines, big rims, but dont do anything when you step on the gas, you will probably like this game. If you would like a "sleeper" that no one would look twice at.. until you hit the throttle, you probably will not like this game.

I could not force myself to like this game (and i really tried, my mistake!), but your mileage may vary (to keep that car analogy going)

As with --ALL-- games, rent before you buy!!!!

    Great Game
The game was exactly what i hoped for and i recieved it in near perfect condition in about 2 days.

Baseball with a little extra spice.
While no where near as insane as MLB Slugfest, this game still adds that extra flavor that makes this more fun to play. This game, while it does have a little realism, like player names and statistics, has a very exaggerated outlook on baseball. Two serperate bars a the top of the screen are the most important part of the game. The higher these bars, the more your ability to make outragous defensive plays and make every hit into a double or triple. A very fun game, but not for someone who wants a deep and realistic baseball experience.

    Not The "Big" Leagues
My son and I have had fun playing this game against each other but this game stinks for real time play. This game is very cartoonish and if you are looking for real baseball play, stay away from this one. If you are looking for over dramatic hitting, fielding and running, this one is for you.

I personally prefer the old MVP baseball games and I would rather play "The Show" instead. These game have more real play action without the cartoon theatrics.

    Classic 2K arcade style game
This game is really fun and challenging at the same time..I enjoy most baseball games and this one is at the top of my list because it is very entertaining and u wont be very bored playing it because its always something for you to do...I'd reccommend the rookie challenge its very fun

    What Arcade Means To Me
Before buying this game, I saw other people had called it an arcade game. I was hesitant, but it's a baseball game, what could it really mean that would tarnish my gaming experience?

Now that I've had it for a couple of weeks and played it quite a bit, arcade has come to mean for me that:
    1. The game is less realistic than usual. (E.G. points you earn for throwing strikes, taking balls, getting hits or making diving catches).
    2. There really isn't a "Season" or "Franchise" mode. There is the Rookie Challenge, where you create your own player and bring him up through the big leagues and build his stats to have him become the MVP and what not.

The game is extremely addicting and fun. And the games are fast-paced a-la Ken Griffey Baseball for the Nintendo 64 (yes I'm comparing that far back, because it's hard to find good sports games).

Easy mode is fun for people who like the Overkill games (like me), winning by anywhere from 5 to 50 points, where Super Hard mode is incredibly challenging.

There are, however, things in the game I'd like to see fixed in the next incarnation of this series. One incredible frustration for me is the wall catches. And by that I mean that it is NOT hard to hit a ball hard enough for it to be a home run. But depending on how good a fielder the outfielder is (out of five stars), you're likely going to be robbed of a home run. Honestly, if the outfielder is at three stars or above, you can almost ALWAYS kiss your home run goodbye. They're going to catch it. But this is not inherently frustrating. What IS is that they get 25000 Power Points for making each catch. Once you reach 100,000 you have the option to either active Big Heat mode when pitching (makes every pitch extremely difficult to hit) or Power Blast mode when you're hitting (if you touch the ball it's a home run). So you can see how quickly they can amass enough points to use these.

The other frustration is in a similar vein. Almost always, the computer AI will intentionally measure their stride when running after a fly ball so that they can make a diving catch (and get power points, "Only" 17,500 of them for those). Again, they make the catch, what's the big deal. It's just very frustrating when you don't want them to build up their points so fast. If they get legitimate his or if they really DO have to dive to make a catch I'm totally fine with that. But when you hit a hard line drive and they job to make the catch (Or even worse, when you hit an infield line drive and they dive for it instead of just having the fielder move two feet to their left or right) it really gets to you.

Overall, though, these are manageable problems, and the game is worth playing.

    Very good, but slight flaws
The BIGS for Xbox 360 is a very fun, well-put-together game from 2K Sports. It's fast, arcadey, and slightly silly. It's very enjoyable, but has a few flaws- it has only a few modes, the AI is either too forgiving or too ridiculously good, and the concepts get old, as have the rosters in the 18 months since release.

    The pinnacle of 360 gaming!
I was blown away by the sheer quality of this game! I liked how you can easily play it while doing something else, since simply mashing buttons will advance you through as well as any attempted strategy; very convenient for todays on-the-go gamer. Also, you don't need to pay attention to the story, since it basically does not exist- BRILLIANT.

The visuals are top notch- I very much enjoyed the rock walls modeled after lumps of mashed potatoes, and I found the character designs to be extremely memorable and endearing, with such favorites as 'Guy #1', and Guy #2'. Later in the game, you even encounter 'Guy #3', which was really exciting! In a final, deal-sealing stroke of design brilliance, all of the achievements are worth 50 points each, regardless of how easy or hard they are to acquire, which I feel really embodies the spirit of Gamerscore.

If you like movie tie-in games, this is one of them!

Pretty much the worst game I've ever played
I like to be able to beat a game, even if it means turning the difficulty all the way down and using a cheat or two for a hard section. This game was simple as pie up to what I think was the very end when it becomes impossible. There are no cheats and no difficult settings. The graphics reminded me of my N64 and I think I've played games of Jenga that lasted longer than this one.

    Worst Game Ever!
This is the worst game ever. The last boss is impossible to defeat, the game lags and glitches. The camera is so messed up you can't even tell where you are. The achievements are easy if you are buying for xbox 360 ,but after level 4 or 5 it is extremely difficult. This game is not worth how much it is sold for.

    I've played worse.
Is this a terrible video game? It depends on what your expectations are and how much you paid for it. Expecting a good, long adventure where you "jump" through time and space and paying for it? Aside from not having an inkling about how these movie based games work, you'll be vastly disappointed.

But expecting a quick game you can power through for 1000 achievement points and paying to do so? It delivers.

It's sad that games like these are being shoveled out the door for that very reason; to accommodate the achievement junkies, and it baffles me to no end when games like this are released with hard, time consuming achievements. Are developers really that stupid? Probably.

This fails as a worthwhile video game but succeeds as an easy 1000 achievement points. Your satisfaction depends on what you want it for.

    Awful
This is one of the poorest games I have ever played. No story, you have no idea what in the world is going on in the game. The combat is very pointless and there is nothing new about this game at all. The only real positive is that I played this game for about 20 minutes and earned 300 gamerscore in that period.

    Playing with my favorite heroes
Easy to play. Excellent graphics. A lot of heroes to choose and A LOOOOT of powers to use with each of them...
Excellent to play with friends with more than one joystick.
I'm just disappointed that the Nick Fury is not the Ultimate version (the black "Samuel L. Jackson" one). And the plot is a bit child, but who cares...

    Great gameplay, crap story
Whoever wrote the plot for this needs to put down the 1980's comic books they've surrounded themselves with, and pick up almost anything Marvel has produced after 2000. The plot is painful, and dredges the bottom of the Marvel Universe for characters to throw against the heroes of the story.

That said, the gameplay is fun and addictive, making it one of the best brawler games I've had a chance to play; definitely worth the price, and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

    Not good
Wow, how did this game get any positive reviews? First off, the camera is virtually uncontrollable. For example, in the first 30 mins. of play, you come to a room. You can see that there are 5 or 6 guys waiting to kick your butt. So I go in and the door shuts behind me. THE CAMERA STAYED OUTSIDE! So I was getting my butt thumped until I could move into the room far enough for the camera to get in. Climbing on walls and looking for things was very difficult because of the camera. Everytime I would try and straighten the camera to look for something, it would jerk back and auto-center itself. I tried looking for options to turn off the auto-center. There are none. I was tickled to hear Bruce Campbell narrating. However, his snarky sarcasm got old REAL quick. Truthfully, I stopped playing this game after the first mission. Frustrating and not fun (in my humble opinion).

One of the Most Beautiful Spider-Man Games 2 Date!
One of the Most Beautiful Spider-Man Games 2 Date!

I am going 2 be generous with my review and give this a 4 star. But, its not as awful as a lot of the reviews make it out to be. I must admit it that this is probably one of the most beautiful Spider-Man games 2 date!

    Downgrade
I wouldn't say I had high hopes for this game. Based strictly on reviews, I assumed this game would be similar to the spider-man 2 movie tie in game. I was sorely disappointed to find out just how much had been changed.
Spider-man 2 was great, it had its flaws... but it was a solid and fun game. Instead of building on what was already good, activision took and made into a mess.
Combat is broken, the boss fights are too hard, and the "button tapping" is absurd. Every boss you fight cannot be defeated until you press a series of buttons in time as they appear on the screen. You have about a quarter second to react, so you typically end up doing it 3 or 4 times just to get it right.
What made me happy however, is the city itself. It looks great, and simply swinging around doing random missions is far more gratifying than actually playing the story.

The Spider-man games started with spider-man the official game of the movie. which did well in sales and reviews, followed by spider-man 2 which did even better and now spider-man 3 hits stores and has mixed reactions at best. Reviewed as Medicore by cridics and OK by players, the franchise hit a obstacle with both the spider-man 3 game (averaged 5/10) and the movie that sold well but the cridics bashed at every turn. The success of the movies however only hightened the expectations for the game and many were unsatisfied with the game because of those expectations, but for any real fan, its a game worth trying. Theirs nothing funner than betting up Venom with your fists and feet as well as with construction material (hehe). So the game is a must have in my opinion and has an excellent tie in with the movie. You battle Venom Sandman and New Goblin (at first) and classic villains such as Rhino and Scorpion. The game features the most wide-open playground i have seen yet. Travel Central Park or swing your way to Manhattan Island in the entirety of New York City, stopping on the way to stop gangs from overwhelming the police and taking back the city one step at a time. My favorite part of the game is the Fights with the main Villains were the developers intergrated on touch actions that give you amazing footage of spidey's awesome moves. So if you liked the first two spider-man games you will most likely enjoy Spider-man 3. And to those new to the Franchise, this is the game to sequay into. Oh yeah and spidey gets mauled by street thugs. What!

Good if you haven't played Spidey 2.
First off, if you have played the game Spiderman 2, then you should just really look at this as an expansion pack. It doesn't really do anything that Spiderman 2 didn't. Your in a very similiar enviornment as you were in the second, but in it's time Spiderman 2 was much better. I beat Spiderman 2 twice I believe. I'm a third of the way through the game and am not sure whether or not I will ever finish it. I had started back on it not long ago, but I got frustrated and put back on the shelf. If you played Spiderman 2 and moderately enjoyed it, then this isn't for you. If like me you loved Spidey 2 then I would check this out.

    Overall 5.5-6.0

    I love it
I love the game because i like to kill people in the game and i like the misions like staling cars fro people.

A great value at a budget price
If you like GTA games, you'll probably like this. It offers different things than GTA and doesn't quite integrate the collection activities like GTA does, but I found this to be great fun, including most of the side activities. Many fewer things were as boring as some of the other open world activities in GTA, not that I'm degrading GTA at all since it is great on its own merits. Personally I played Saints Row before GTA IV. It might not live up to current standards since this was a release in the early xbox 360 life cycle. But if you like the GTA experience, I don't think you can go wrong with this much to do in the game at a budget price.

    COOL
I like that I can creat my own look in this game it not just a guy that they give you ! Also the radio when you drive around is got cool music in it so that helps you when you playing for hours

GTA clone; can't get past 5% due to game freezes
forget that this piece of garbage is a GTA clone for a moment...it doesn't even work...it has frozen on me 4 times in a row...unable to get pat 5% of completion due to freezes...inexcusable for a piece of trash that has been out this long to do this...

Poor excuse of a GTA ripoff
I love sandbox games but when they have graphics and controls as bad as this game, it makes me wonder why I play games at all.
