Great Fun
If you love movies you'll love this game. Much better than the board games. Enough said.

Scene It BOS is so worth it!
I have had a lot of fun playing this game! You should definitely get this if you love the movies.

Great Game, DLC Helps as well!
I had bought the original Scene it - Lights Camera Action bundle with the controllers so I only needed the game only for this version. With the controllers, this game is nothing short of great, They improved upon some issues that existed in the first game along with added avatar support which is fun for the achievement seekers or vane people :)

Trivia is a lot of fun, varying categories with one catch. After you have played this game about 5-10 times, you will start getting repeat questions and thankfully, thats what the DLC is for. This game is great for partys and everyone thinks it is way better than the DVD version.

I bought a couple of the Scene it - Box Office Smash Bundles for Christmas presents this year.

Great Party Game!
Just played this over the weekend and it was a ton of fun. Far more enjoyable than the awkward board game version of Scene It. There is now a *third* Scene It and I will definitely be adding that to my "To Buy" list. Love the buzzer controls. Makes you feel like you are playing in a real quiz show.

Scene it? Box Office Smash
My wife and I enjoyed both this game and the first one immensely. It is a great party game when having friends over. We prefer the announcer from the first game (I believe that is Fred Willard), but gameplay-wise Box Office Smash is a vast improvement over the first one. It is worth it to get both of these.

reflections
i thot 4 sure this tym capcom and madcatz had gotten it ryt NOPE
this controller is just as bad as the ps2 and xbox versions b4
i only rated it a 3 outta 5 cuz it has turbo now the previous versions didnt
also it felt more like a 30 dollar controller this tym as well

el cheapo and uncomfortable to hold
the button make from cheap material.... hurts your hand to hold after a while. not worth the money. the xbox 360 control heaps better. i only use it once!

dfgsg
the controller was ok but the problem with it is that the pad or the thing you move with is the same as the one in the x box controller it is not very accurate and it is frustrating your better off buying the fight sticks.

chun li controller
I ordered this controller as a cheap alternative to the tournament style sticks from madcatz. For the cheap price, these are great controllers. I even use mine as a generic 3rd xbox controller when friends are over.

If you have a 360 copy of SFIV, you need to own this.
First off, with the title I gave this, why not a 5/5? All the hardcore pros claim that with a good fight stick you can't go wrong. Although I've never had a fight stick of any kind, some minor issues I've had with this pad have claimed not to exist with quality sticks.

Personally, I don't think a fight stick is right for me. I'm almost 22, I've been playing Capcom fighters since SF II; during this time I've always used my left thumb for the directional commands and I don't want that to change. The D-pad on the 360 controller is trash and the analog stick is much better, BUT the SF IV Fightpad is better than the analog stick. I can EX cancel in my combos like a beast with the Fightpad which is essential if you wanna play advanced with fire ball characters like Ryu or Sagat. Also, the turbo function can be very useful if applied properly.

I main Balrog, Fei Long and Ryu. I couldn't play as well with 360 controller as I can now with the pad. Turbo has been argued to be an unfair advantage in fighting games, but it isn't software hax PLUS it's officially licensed. Turboing Balrog hurts more than it helps except of light kick from my experience, but with Fei and Ryu everything should be turboed except the grab buttons.

A problem I had with this Fightpad with SF IV is that when I tried to do normal special moves or advanced combos, if my EX bar was full I'd sometimes do SUPERS unexpectedly. There was one hard challenge mode trial for Sagat that didn't involve doing a SUPER or Ultra at all, but when I did the Tiger Knee in the 4th hard trial a super would come out. You wanna do moves fast, but be aware that doing them too fast could do accidental supers. Although this can get annoying when it happens, it's still much better than the interface on the 360 controller, which is not meant for fighting games like this.

If you're gonna take this game seriously, you need this product or a stick. Think about the games you have already, you may find more use for this corded controller with Turbo than just SF IV. I'm sure gonna be using this for Marvel vs Capcom 2 which should be released on XBL and PSN THIS WEEK; this will work better with all Capcom fighting games than the 360 controller. There is a switch on the back so you can set the pad to be either a D-pad, left analog stick or right analog stick. You can't play this with shooters like Halo, but no doubt there should be other games you can use it for.

IDK what the price of this is now, but don't pay the scalper price. You shouldn't have to pay more than what a wireless 360 controller is at retail price. There have been scarcity problems with this product, but don't pay 3 figures for it. I hope you find one at a reasonable price like I did.

Not that it has much to do with the quality and functionality of the product, but I picked the Chun-Li because I wanted a cute anime girl on my controller instead of the shoto scrubs looking stupid; the Blanka one looked really ugly. Blue is also my favorite color.

A Well Put Together Role-Play: Lost Odyssey
After over One (1) year of not having this game, I loved playing it so much, I bought it again; so much I made sure I got it new; mostly on account I never had the opportunity to finish it. If you are looking for a great way to spend some free time, love tantalizing your mind with a good story line, several different characters that you just wish for one second could all be invited into one fight to keep your mortals learning new skills to link them to your immortals and kick some serious tale, and hundreds of different ways to queue up a winning strategy, plus being in total control freak, then this game is for you. The game is absolutely in-dept, and the cut scenes come at just the right time for a short rest. It's definitely worth the money, especially for the price I paid. Pick one up today, watch the official movie at [...]

A Must Play!
"In days of old, when knights were bold, and journeyed from their castle.."

Okay, so it's an almost but not quite by the books Japanese RPG. I say that because you'll find all the staples of your typical Japanese RPG. Hero out to save the world? Check. Turn based battles? Check. Random battle sequences? Check. The good news? It adds a lot of refinements to the system, allowing for a great balance of nostalgic JRPG with a breath of fresh air.

The fresh air mostly comes from the heavy refinement of the battle and skill system. While it's not revolutionary (you'll still select battle commands, with usual attack, defend, item, magic, etc.), it definitely adds enough improvement in enough areas to keep you always improving and intrigued, and improvising strategies against the pretty clever enemy. To start, you have two different types of characters: Immortals and Humans. In any given battle, you can have a combination of up to five. You can put the five characters in to a formation. The formation allows you to have a Guard wall, which can drastically reduce the damage received by the party members in the back. The more characters you have up front, the stronger the wall, but the more damage the front takes, the weaker your wall becomes and more easily damaged your back row will be. Balancing the formation becomes key in protecting the weaker members of your party (health wise) so they can provide support and magics.

One of the main differences between the two is that Immortals will actually revive themselves after so many turns, no matter how many times they die, while a mortal must be revived by an item or magic. Another is how the learn their skills- A mortal learns skills by leveling up, while an Immortal learns skills by earning SP points from battles, that allow them to learn skills and magics from either equipment or from "linking" to skills known by mortals, which encourages using all of your characters on a regular basis.

Last but not least with the battle system, there are "rings". These provide different boosts (including extra damage, elemental damage, damage against certain enemy types, stealing items, absorbing health, etc) when the activated during the battle. When a character performs a regular attack, a circle appears on the screen, with another circle rapidly decreasing in size until they overlap. The idea is to try and pull the trigger when they exactly overlap to pull off either a "good" or "perfect" attack, increasing the effectiveness of the ring.

In regards to the story, the story itself is pretty good, with the typical plot twists and personal challenges and saving the world you'll find in most well regarded JRPG's. This game goes an extra mile in two ways, one with character development, and the other with presentation.

The characters are developed by using in game actions, cutscenes and dreams. And I must stress this, there are a LOT of all of them (especially dreams, although these can be skipped- however I recommend reading the dreams that appear in key events of the plot). This is very much a story centric game, with incredible detail and effort put in to the characters design, stories, backgrounds, and motivations. And the payload is incredible. By the end of the story, you will know come to really understand each and every character, and what lead them to where they are now, and why they are even involved at all. Every single one has a reason, and the player is pulled in to caring about every character. There are very few games that pay such attention to detail to breathing life and sustainability to their characters.

So after having spent so much time praising the game, there is one drawback, that while is annoyance, just barely stops the game from getting a perfect score. While the game is absolutely gorgeous (and I mean gorgeous, from the environments, to the enemies, to the cutscenes), the game suffers from constant struggles with the framerate. Once in a while is okay, but unfortunately it occurs just a little too frequently. Much of this can be alleviated by installing each disc to the 360's hard drive, but that shouldn't be needed on a console that sells arcade (units without hard drives) versions of the console. While none of them are showstoppers, they can have the ability to jar yourself back to reality after having been being pulled so deep in to the game.

All in all, the game is beautiful, fun, refined, and easily one of the best RPG's (and probably THE best JRPG) on the system, and is a must pickup for any fan of the genre. Despite the graphical slowdowns occuring just a tad bit too often, the occasional annoyance can be overlooked in favor the epic. This is a must play!

Great Game, but Use a Guild!
I have had this game for a while, but only recently got around to playing it. Wish I had done so sooner. The story is amazing, though if you are prone to tearing up, I would recommend keeping tissues near you as you play. The characters are entertaining, and they have varying personalities.

However, I highly recommend using some kind of walkthrough, either a player-written one or the official Prima book. While you CAN get through without it, using something helps you find all the little things that you might otherwise miss.

One warning though... This is a JRPG, which means lots of random encounters and no save-anywhere. (Save points are frequent, but it can be tiresome getting to them.)

A Filler, but Possibly not Worth the Time
DOES CONTAIN SPOILERS
For a video game that seems to hark on time and how important it is, I found myself utterly astounded that I dedicated so much time to the game itself. Now, don't get me wrong, I found the game to be, at the very least, entertaining. However, there are several things that I found about this creation that is in serious need of a face lift.

Kaim Argonar, our angst-ridden protagonist is about as likable as an emo kid bewailing his musical escapades with a dull razor. Thankfully, however, there is reason to believe that Kaim has a meaningful explanation to be the way he is. He's 'immortal' and has seen the full scope of far too many lives, the pains of war, and how capitalism drives societies to their ends. Not too far off from our world, which is a plus. Kaim, however, becomes rather likable after a while, simply by his dedication to continue to fight for something that will inevitably pass on in his lifetime.

The other immortals, however, seem strangely above this condition and continue to be rather chipper throughout the story. Seth, being a prime example. Even though she has her quirks towards Kaim-emoness, she is rather likable and just does what she needs to and calls it a day. The most expression we get from her is in regards to her son, Sed, who resembles a 70 year old man in comparison to the 20 year old looking Seth. The end, however, is hardly capable of swallowing. Seth becomes a sacrificial hero which doesn't seem to sit well in my hands. I just never built up enough for her to care since Kaim, despite his bewailing, is the main pusher and puller of the story.

The White Boa...needs to be at the bottom of the ocean. It's as useless as the Nautilus' ability to fly. True, it can smash through ice and, therefore, progress some of the story and complete some of the missions, but it is the slowest thing around. I used it as little as possible. Whoever said this would be a great idea ought to have a talk with me. Just equip the jack-of-all-trades Nautilus with a blow dryer on the front and all will be well.

The story itself isn't bad. We'll talk more about that later. However, it seemed rather slapdash. It certainly had the potential for greatness but fell short and hit a few steps on the way down. I think the best part of the story that I enjoyed was Cooke and Mack's mother, Kaim and Sarah's daughter, who seems to piece the entire story together with her infinite love and compassion. It is, unfortunately, not the focus of the story. A sound mind will realize that Gongora is the antithesis to Lirum's passionate zest for life, as short as it might have been, but the story also tries to slide towards the world domination category with Gongora. Compassion seems to be the side thought to a much greater evil, when it should have been emphasized more in both regards. Of course, who wants a sappy story about a dead woman?

As hinted out before, the character development is strangely lacking. Sure, I laughed at some of Jansen's jokes and got a twinge in my eye from Cooke and Mack or some of the 'memory' stories that are unlocked throughout the game, but I certainly was not particularly moved by life-or-death scenarios. Sarah and Sed were probably the least interesting even though I felt like they could have been if they had a little bit more stage time.

While on the subject of characters. The way they level up is bothersome. It is strangely effective in new areas where your leveling up becomes a kind of steroid power without ever having much difficulty behind battling anything you encounter. Because of this, each area will level you up to a certain number where it feels comfortable that you can continue and then it becomes a terribly slow ordeal that refuses to give you even so much as a point, if that. No wonder Kaim is whining. Regardless, it is somewhat effective, but then you never have that exciting pleasure of whether you think you are strong enough to battle the next boss. Bosses, therefore, become rather easy, even if some were positively infuriating. The most difficult battle in the entire game is the last battle of the Backyard, a kind of battle arena. All others should be a cake walk if you find yourselves slow on the leveling up category.

Okay, okay, so not everything is bad. A lot is good! The music, for one, is fantastic. Why? Because it's composed by the notorious Nobuo Uematsu. I would spend a good deal of time 'leveling up' just so I could listen to some of his music. Unfortunately, the leveling up part was hardly enjoyable from other RPGs.

Being clearly sarcastic myself, Jansen really kept the story rolling for me. He started the story going, flitted along sarcastically along the way, and wound up helping a great deal in the end. The writers should be complimented with some of his comments, even if the other characters lacked much vocabulary. Speaking of writers, the little memory stories were sometimes corny and other times strangely linked up with the reality us humans live in. It certainly helps for us to care about what is being said. I recommend reading them, even if they aren't required.

Despite the leveling up fiasco that occurs in each area, the fight sequence is stable and often times fun. There is also a variety of interesting critters to fight, even if some are painfully repeated in other areas. I did not find myself frustrated with any of the game play, and the ability to hit perfects being in your control is a wonderful concept.

Not to be long winded, but I chewed up the game enough to begin with. The story, as mentioned, was almost there. The potential was great but somehow slacked off and became negligible. Regardless, there is a deal to like, such as Lirum, mentioned earlier. She is truly, regardless of never actually feeling like she was important, presents the antithesis to Gongora who cannot love even though he feels he is giving into the virus of emotions. Nobody ever explained that one. There are also Lirum's kids, who, despite being irritating at first, are just as beneficial to the party as Kaim is. I expected them to be more like Tolten, in other words, useless, but they came through in the end.

There are also a decent amount of side missions that can be completed for loads of goodies, and they aren't particularly maddening. I don't think I could have dealt with another maddening boss, such as the last fight in the Backyard. The dedication to the game just isn't there, so I was happy with mediocre difficulty being faced in the dark places of the planet.

So, all in all, it's not bad. Sure, there are problems, but it wasn't as miserable as I expected it to be. I feel like if the producers just spent a bit more time fiddling they would have had a fantastic game. Unfortunately, they didn't. So I won't be returning to Kaim's world anytime soon. I wouldn't swear it completely off, but I certainly don't recommend spending as much time on it as I did. 80 hours.

Precious
In a world of evolving genres, it is nice that Lost Odyssey is possible. Thanks to Mistwalker and Microsoft, we are lucky enough to have this title available: a high-budget turned-based RPG. It has fantastic short stories, music, and characters, with an engaging, old-school battle system. Highly recommended. I wish for a sequel...so much.

A Wide-open LA Like You've Never Imagined
Midnight Club Los Angeles drops players into a painstakingly recreated version of world-famous Tinseltown. Broken down into five distinct open-world gameplay areas, linked on the game map, cumulatively these areas comprise a massive area, much larger than anything ever seen in previous Midnight Club releases and possibly larger than any existing racer to date. Within these areas, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Mulholland Drive and Downtown LA, players are free to engage in mission play driving them to attain and customize a wide range of authentic world-class street racing vehicles, or to simply explore the city, taking on all comers in a variety of race types as they wish. Regardless, along the way they will experience not only the visual realism of the iconic boulevards, freeways, and landmarks made famous in TV and movies, but also the realism of the living breathing LA urban experience. Here traffic backs up then clears as people go to and leave work for the day, weather systems come and go and day turns to night, then back again. All the while the race goes on. It's all part of the living, breathing LA. It's all part of the Midnight Club.

The Cars
Midnight Club: Los Angeles will feature an astounding selection of vehicles in the Muscle Car, Exotics, Tuners, Motorcycle and Luxury car categories. At the time of publishing only a fraction of the total list has been announced, but a good sampling of what players can expect at launch can be seen below. Click the links in each category to see screen shots of the cars:

Muscle Cars
   Saleen S302 Extreme
   Chevrolet Corvette Z06
   Dodge Challenger Concept Car
Bikes
   Kawasaki Ninja ZX14
Exotics
   Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster
   Ford GT
   Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder
Tuners
   Volkswagen R32
   Pontiac Solstice
   1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX

Extreme Customization
Midnight Club Los Angeles continues the tradition of offering some of the deepest vehicle customization you will find in any video game. The hottest licensed cars and bikes in the world are at your disposal - kit them out, supe them up, and personalize them down to the last detail to make them all your own. Visit the Club's in-game garages located in Hollywood and Santa Monica and let your imagination run wild - tweaking and fine tuning through the following three different types of vehicle modifications:

Performance & Handling - To become a street legend, you're going to have to tune your vehicle for maximum performance. The garage offers three levels of upgrades for virtually every component on your vehicle, but it's up to you to craft the winning combination that will give you the edge on the competition.

Exterior - For the Midnight Club, stunting is a habit and its clandestine Los Angeles garages have all the toys needed to ensure heads turn in this jaded town. From making sure your car is dripping in candy paint, to adding unique body kits and jaw dropping extras, the garage offers practically limitless possibilities to personalize your vehicle with aftermarket accessories and customizable options.

Interior - Don't embarrass yourself by pulling up with an outrageously kitted-up car that has a 'me-too' factory interior. Not a good look! You're going to be spending a lot of time behind the wheel, so renovate and make yourself feel comfortable.

Beware or Befriend the Local Competition
The street racing scene of Midnight Club is tough, but tight, meaning that everyone that you meet in expansive Los Angeles could just as easily be an ally as an enemy. One thing is for certain though, they are all willing to throw down at the drop of a hat. Just a few of the faces you'll encounter out on the streets are:

NPC Karol from 'Midnight Club: Los Angeles' Karol, Age 45 - A veteran of Moscow's underground street racing circuit, Karol moved to LA in the 1990's after the collapse of the Soviet Union. If you're looking for cars, he's your man. He owns two successful garages and claims to be able to get hold of any vehicle, no questions asked. He also sees himself as a philosopher and will bend your ear if you left him. He mostly races around Hollywood and the Beaches and his rides include a 1975 Datsun 280Z, 1969 Boss Mustang 302, 2006 Dodge Challenger and a 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV.
NPC Annie from 'Midnight Club: Los Angeles' Annie, Age 31 - Annie has a rep as one of the fiercest drivers in the city. She detests posers and wannabes, is intelligent and sharp-tongued and pulls no punches when it comes to cutting the competition down to size. She has been spotted in everything from a 1983 VW Golf GTI, 2006 Pontiac Solstice, 2008 Chrysler 300C SRT-8, 2008 Audi RS4 and a 2004 Ford Shelby Cobra Concept and can usually be found hanging out near Pink's Hotdog Stand in Hollywood along with her crew.

Awesome Game
Best racing game out. They also have a free addition to the game on Xbox live called South Central. The streets are so real as you play the game.

Real life graphics and cool driving
This game is very solid with beatiful graphics and awesome dynamic weather system. The game arrived in very good condition. The only downside is that the game is a little tough, and oponet racers seem always way faster than you. This does not bring down game experience thoug. I ll be hooked up with this video game for big while.

amazing
ok, the first midnight clubs were cool, but this one brings it to a whole new level. the graphics first off are the best, maybe a little better than gta iv, and i am ashamed of saying that. around the city of L.A. you will see real stores and logos, such as best buy, game stop, pizza hut etc. the cars are awesome, if you just start out playing it will take a little getting used to, because you dont know the controls. this is the best midnight club game

Great game
My husband plays this game a lot and now all his friends want to borrow it,

Fun game. User friendly.
This is my first time playing a game from the Midnight Club series. It is a fun game that has a lot of similarites in play to the GTA series. My opinion is that if you love GTA and you are looking for a racing game, this is the one for you. I hate how some racing games make it such a pain in the rear to handle the car. You spend more time learning to deal with that than having fun racing. This game does a good job of not doing that. The cars are user friendly but still take skill to weave in and out of traffic and evade the police.
My only con to this game is that I wish there were more variety of vehicles to buy. Other than that it is a fun game.

Fun Game
Fun Game, don't even need Tiger Woods 2010 because all of my friends play '09 still. Good time!

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All-Play
Just another game for the X Box 360, nothing special. Do you like to gulf?? This is for you

Great!
This is by far the best golf game I have owned. Has everything that you could wish for. You can customize your golfer to any specification you wish. Great tour season mode and the challenge mode is also great!

Lots of fun for young and old
Georgeous graphic. Tons of play and customization options. Great acheivement / reward sytem. Only had the game a couple weeks and really enjoy it. Make sure if you go to a challange that you have the time to complete it or you will lose any progress you have made as I have not found a way to halt after say nine holes in an 18 rounder. I have version 9 and am pretty sure I will get version 10 when the price drops. I still have tons of options to keep me going with version nine.

Outstanding Golf Game
I purchased Tiger Woods 09 over the summer on sale after I downloaded the demo. This is a great all around game- graphics are crisp, gameplay is smooth, skill ratings are a good challenge, the achievements are great too! This is my first Tiger Woods game for any console and I would recommend it to anyone. Obivously it helps to be a golf fan, but this game allows you to purchase new clothes for your golfer that can boost your skills, put your face on your created golfer, and it has several fun gameplay options- Tiger challenge- you have to complete small challenges to gain points, ulitmately to play the real pros in match play.

The driving range is even fun! Tweak your clubs and improve your skills.

Mini games allow for quick challenges against the CPU or friends- Long ball, hitting targets- play T.I.G.E.R (HORSE).

Online play is easy to pick up and play too!

This game ROCKED and was OUTSTANDING!
amazon is the best website to buy games, toys, etc because they are very true to their word that your product will arrive on that specific day... i love shopping at amazon.com so much that i highly recommand it to all of parents, kids, and grandparents because this site is true to its word...

when i got the game, i was very very very pleased with the arrival and the condition... they said that i was going to get it 23 days and then it came.... i am HIGHLY IMPRESSED! with amazon.....

What's your zombie plan?
This game is great for preparation of a zombie apocalypse... You'll be sorry when it happens! jk =p Almost everything in this game can be used as a weapon against the hordes or zombies that come to attack you. This game is base on the notion that they are slow moving and stupid rather than running after you and what not. There are more than just zombies in this game to keep you busy such as boss battles with psychopaths and lots of people to save and bring back to your safehouse. Just a note but this game is hard to beat at first and you will probably die trying. But it's meant to be that way. You can end the game where it is or continue from a savepoint when you die... if you continue from a previous save you do just that. But if you end and save the game, you can start up a new game and keep the level and costume that you have on from the last game you ended. If it's too hard then just keep playing and leveling your guy up until you're at a level that makes you more agile and able to carry more weapons and have more special moves to use on the zombies and psychopaths... in short this is a great zombie survival/rescue game that's even fun to pick up once in a while and just run zombies down in cars or lawnmowers or with a mall bench... Good stuff for zombie lovers! (Note: Also when you get the game you might want to change the camera aim controls... It's default puts the camera facing the character when you aim a gun but you can change it to where when you push the aim button it will aim in the direction you already have the camera in...)

Bleh.
I'm a huge zombie fan. I'm also a huge gamer. I finally got around to picking up Dead Rising and was ready to kill some mindless zombies. Sadly, I didn't know I was going to be plagued with terrible AI and terrible save system. The aim system is just awful and the timed missions were getting in the way of my slaughtering of the horde. You have the option to save survivors on the way except the are as about as intelligent as the rotting corpses shambling through the mall. Rather then follow you they'd rather just stand in the middle of a swarm of the undead and yell for help. The boss battles can range from mind numbingly easy to throw your paddle at the wall hard. The weapon system is alright, but it seems you only get a few kills from melee weapons before they break and only a few shots with your gun which is pitiful to aim. This game was alright but I found myself more frustrated then enjoying this game. Rather then being plagued by the undead I found myself plagued by horrible AI and a horrendous save system which will have you giving up on this game. Save as much as you can because if you accidentally run into a psychopath and get killed you will find that you've just wasted a few hours on nothing. Bleh.

Spent many, many hours playing this game.
This game has its faults - but it's amazing.

It begins with 72 Hour Mode. This features the main storyline with side missions mixed throughout. Most of the objectives are called in from "Otis" the groundskeeper. Or janitor. Whatever he is, you may grow to loath this man. He calls you on the radio an annoying number of times. Exploring these missions you will encounter people that you may choose to save. Sometimes you will stumble on someone randomly. Rescuing survivors gives you a lot of experience points, so it's a good idea. There are 50 experience levels the main character must go through to achieve a proper measure of bad ass. As you level up your health bars increase, as well as your inventory, and you learn new zombie destruction moves. The number of zombies is pretty amazing. Especially if you get down in to the parking structure/tunnels. There are so many weapons to use in this game it's sort of ridiculous. Some of them do way more damage than they should. Still - it's awesome taking out hordes of the undead by hurling diamonds and other fine stones at them. Beating folks with a guitar, unlocking and using the Mega-Man gun, the bowling ball head crusher. The soccer ball is insanely funny especially when you use it on a group of survivors that you are escorting.

There are multiple different endings to this game. I believe there are five, but could be remembering incorrectly. Once you've done the Main ending the storyline will continue with "Overtime Mode". Without spoilers - In this mode you run around the mall seeking out certain items of the utmost importance. This time zombies are not the biggest threat.

Once you've completed Overtime Mode and seen the true ending you will have unlocked "Infinity Mode". Who knows how many days I've logged on this game, but wanting the achievements will require a lot of hours. One of the reasons being that in Infinity Mode - you cannot save... ever. 2 hours real time is 24 hours in-game time. For the "7 Day Survivor" achievement your Xbox will be on for a minimum of 14 hours. In this mode your health drains constantly and you must roam the mall seeking out other survivors to destroy them and steal their supplies! Getting the correct books from the bookstores will allow you to maximize the effectiveness of health items. You must eat every 15 - 20 minutes or you die. There are also books that prevent weapons from breaking quickly which you will need if you're going to go Rambo on zomboids as I do.

As far as gripes, I have 3:

1. The load screens. There are quite a few of them. Though they load quickly - it's noticeable to a fault in a few parts when you have to jump between areas.

2. The save system. Dear goodness - probably the scariest thing in this game. You can only save by traveling to either a bathroom - or to the Security Room. Overtime Mode has a different save point. Infinity Mode offers NO SAVE POINTS. To unlock one of the best weapons in the game - The Lightsaber - you need the "7 Day Survivor" achievement.

3. Otis. I wish that it would allow you to just murder him right when the game starts, or at least steal the batteries from his radio. He calls you so many times! So, so many times.
_______________________

In the end, beyond the gripes and groans, this game has become one of my all-time favorites. In a way it's like playing out your own twisted version of Dawn of the Dead. If Zombies are your thing, check out this game and go medieval.

Horde of Frustration
Dead Rising has plenty of potential for fun. The characters are dynamic, the environment is detailed, and the game's "gimmick" of being able to use just about anything as a weapon is very enjoyable. Unfortunately, you'll have to wade through a few layers of aggravation before you'll be able to really have fun with it.

You start the game with a very small amount of health, and you'll only be able to shake off a zombie about four times without healing before you're dead. Provided, that is, that you can figure out how to shake off the zombie at all. The instruction manual doesn't specifically tell you how to do that, and the in-game tutorial won't come early enough, either.

There's also a good reason for why there are so many things you can use as weapons in this game. You'll run out of ammo quickly, and your melee weapons will break much faster than you expect them to. As the game progresses, you'll learn unarmed skills that will make this situation easier to deal with... but early in the game, it's just another source of annoyance.

The bottom line is, this is a very sharp learning curve and there is NO WAY to change the difficulty setting. You need to be prepared to watch your character die FREQUENTLY before you feel even remotely comfortable with the game's quirks. Some players will find that their patience will be rewarded. Others will just get a sudden, urgent need to load up a game that's less frustrating.

No Token - But 'Lots of Fun
As previously mentioned, the GOTY version of CoD4 no longer includes a token with your purchase for whatever reasons. At the time I bought this however, it was at .99 from .99. That is an amazing deal for a greater, older game and to find it new. The map pack only costs .00 so it was still a bargain.

Aside from that, the actual game is worth whatever cost it is at the time. If you have yet to venture into the Call of Duty series and are thinking of trying out MW2, I strongly suggest buying this game first. This game has the basics. It's simple, clean and most of all a lot of fun. The Single Player is a great experience, although short, but that allows you to move onto the sweet spot of CoD4: the multiplayer. The maps in this game were designed perfectly, allowing fluid movement through obstacles and buildings. You get to create your own clan tag online, customize weapons with skins and unlock weapon attachments. There is a limited amount of weapons but enough to keep one satisfied. There are various modes such as Team Deathmatch, Headquarters, Capture The Flag, Search + Destroy (personal favorite), Hardcore TDM, Sabotage and many more to keep you entertained.

I gave it 4 stars for fun because, with all games, they have their issues. Playing this game online can get frustrating at times if you are playing to only win win win. In that case I suggest finding a buddy or two to play with who's great at the game as well. Others may have no problem losing a game or two and have fun either way. So to even it out, I gave it 4 stars.

I've been playing this game since it came out and I still enjoy it and play it over its sequel, MW2. It has a very high replay value so you'll be getting your money's worth. That's my basic overview of this game, I hope you don't pass up the chance of experiencing this great game first hand.

great 1st person shooter
just about everything there is to say about this game has been said already....It's been around a while, but I just got into it a week or so ago. Without going into a great amount of detail, I simply find it to be a lot of fun. In my opinion it's worth the price.

excellent game, but too short
I completely understand how Call of Duty 4 won the honor of Game of the Year. The graphics are phenomenal. The story is great. It's everything a game should be and maybe that's why I am so disappointed by how utterly short the game is. I am new to the Xbox 360 and haven't been exactly what you'd call a "gamer" in many years and even I beat this game in a few short hours, over the course of a few days. I played the recruit level and now I'm going to move on to the next level. Perhaps the game isn't too short at all and I just need a bit more of a challenge. Either way, I'm glad I bought this game.

my sons received as xmas gift. they play it ALL the time. they love it.

Unfortunately the recipient of this game already had it, so I had to return it. But the vendor who I bought it from was understanding and quickly credited my credit card.

Very Good Controller!
This is a very fine product!
From Madcatz come this Fender licensed Bass Replica! the thing is huge!!! almost life size! gives your game a "reality" feeling... buttons are great! obvious lack of whammy bar is obvious! duh! but it has a knob you can use as a whammy... very cool... instead of desecrating the bass figure, they put this knob, i really like it! overall very good product! 100% recommended!

Bass is great but doesn't last
I love this bass = it's the only instrument I will play guitar or bass with on Rock Band since the longer neck feels much more comfortable. I don't even mind that it's not wireless - find it more responsive than wireless versions I have used. But I have to say one thing - they don't last - I am now on my 4th bass (and ordering another as a back up) due to various breakdowns - at this price it's not worth sending them back for a repair in my view - once we repaired the wire which seemed to have been pulled out (my fault I guess) but then the tilt mechanism failed on the next one and the strumm bar failed on the 3rd. Latest version still going strong after 5 months so I am hopeful but again, since I like it so much I am getting a back up for the next anticipated failure.

I tried the wireless version of the bass and it was totally bad - whammy know and fret buttons both stiff and hard to play - losing me tons of points before I gave up.

okk
this came to me late in the in the mail first off also i got a guitar not a bass and the wamy bar doesnt work the sound adjustment is also broken buy from a different seller

Great addition if you already have drums, mic and stratocaster
The Precision Bass is a nice addiction if you already have the rest of the Rock Band instruments. It looks great; the dual strum bar works nicely. The whammy knob takes some getting used to, but other than that it's a great guitar. I would recommend it if you're looking for a second guitar for your collection, or if you play a lot of bass and want a more realistic feel.

Trash it.
This bass is horrible. I mean, it looks nice, but the buttons are unresponsive, the whammy bar has been replaced with an un-useable knob. It is flimsy and many parts break VERY easily. It is NOT wireless. It does NOT work with any Guitar Hero game. The Star Power activator never works properly.. Come on Mad Catz! This could have been an awesome peripheral. Instead, you give us this abomination! You should be ashamed of yourselves!

Do NOT buy this piece of trash! It is a pile of junk!

Operation Market Garden: The Story of Hell's Highway
Operation Market Garden was a real-life Allied offensive designed to destroy Nazi Germany before Christmas, 1944. The plan was ambitious - it was largest airborne invasion in the history of the world. The plan was to capture a corridor through Holland to punch through the German lines. Paratroopers of the 101st Airborne and other divisions dropped from the sky in mid-September to seize and hold the corridor by surprise. The surprise attack was a bust. Hitler's best units were in the area and immediately counter-attacked and crushed the corridor.

Meet the Squad
Although players see the chaos of Operation Market Garden exclusively through the eyes of Sgt. Matt Baker, Hell's Highway is squad-based and as such players will direct, interact with, and get to know all the members of the 101st Airborne in intimate detail. Some of the characters return from earlier games in the series, while others are brand new. Regardless, each has his own personality, history and attitudes towards the plight the squad finds themselves in as they seek to survive a bold, but doomed plan. Some of the dog faces players will encounter are include:

Sgt. Matt Baker from 'Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway' Name & Rank: Sgt. Matt Baker
Preferred Weapon: M1 Rifle
Bio: With his experience from the battles of Normandy, Baker enters Holland fully accepting the mantle and responsibilities of squad leader. However, the loss of half his original squad still weighs heavily on him and he will not let any more of his men die.
Sgt. Joe 'Red' Hartsock from 'Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway' Name & Rank: Sgt. Joe "Red" Hartsock
Preferred Weapon: M1A1 Thompson
Bio: A corporal under Baker's command, he was promoted to Sergeant after the battle in Carentan. Unlike Baker, Red understands the realities of war and is prepared to make the tough decisions required of a squad leader. All he can do is minimize the casualties.
Pfc. Mike Dawson from 'Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway' Name & Rank: Pfc. Mike Dawson
Preferred Weapon: M1A1 Thompson
Bio: Though a newcomer to the squad, Mike served with the 502nd PIR in Normandy. He believes in fate and is interested in the story of Baker's "cursed pistol." His inquiries have made him a pariah, as the other members would rather not re-live those events.
Cpl. Tom Zanovich from 'Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway' Name & Rank: Cpl. Tom Zanovich
Preferred Weapon: M1918A2 B.A.R.
Bio: The "old man" and veteran of the squad, Zanozich served in the French Foreign Legion before enlisting in the U.S. Army. Despite all the combat he's seen, Tom has a strong sense of humor - even when the situation doesn't exactly call for it.
Cpl. Sam Corrion from 'Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway' Name & Rank: Cpl. Sam Corrion
Preferred Weapon: M1A1 Thompson
Bio: Corrion was a corporal with Baker and Hartsock before Normandy, and much to his dismay, is still a corporal. Sam excelled as a foreman in the saw mill back home, and believes that he could perform better than either of his compatriots, if only given a chance.
Key Features:

  • Brothers In Arms Hell's Highway - Next Generation: The classic authentic, squad-based combat series explodes on next-generation hardware, offering unprecedented graphics and features.
  • New Story, New Setting: Follow Matt Baker, Joe Hartsock and the rest of the 101st Airborne Division in "Operation Market-Garden" as they fight to open famous "Hell's Highway" in a daring bid for a quick end to the war.

  • Unprecedented Character Design: Lifelike characters look, talk, move and think with incredible realism. Game characters interact with the player and each other like true brothers in arms, trading ammunition, helping wounded allies and civilians, working together to man team-operated weapons, and more.
  • Rich Cinematic Experience: As the squad leader, you interact with and get to know your brothers. Each character has his own personality, unique story and background, and grows through the game.
  • Powerful New Units Under Your Command: Players can use or command combined arms teams - machine gun crews create intense fire, bazooka crews destroy buildings and tanks, and mortar crews pound the enemy from a distance.
  • Step Into the Boots of a Soldier: Hit the dirt and get prone, rip grenades from your chest and hurl them at your enemies. See and feel the blast of nearby explosions.
  • Completely New Multiplayer Experience: Fight major multiplayer battles with dozens of players on each side; all the intensity and accessibility of Deathmatch meshed with the squad-based gameplay that helped make Brothers In Arms famous.
  • Destroyable Cover: Keep your men moving and choose your cover wisely - simulated with real physics, weapons will damage, dent, scorch and destroy the world around you.
There's only one way out of hell, and that's through it. To the Allied paratroopers who fought to capture and hold the bridges and roads of Holland targeted in Operation Market Garden the price was the lives of their brothers in arms. To them the corridor became known as Hell's Highway. It was the the last great Nazi victory. It was simply hell for Sgt. Matt Baker and his squad. Relive their courage and heroism in Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway.

Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway: The Colonel Antal Interview

'Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway' game logo Since 1985, when it dropped into the WWII division of the popular tactical/strategy shooter genre with Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30, the Brothers in Arms series has consistently met with critical acclaim and gamer praise. This was a tough mission to accomplish, but it did so by focusing compelling squad-based tactical gameplay against the backstory of a fictional squad within the US Army's 101st Airborne Division as they battle through a historically correct re-creation of the events of the Allied invasion of Europe during WWII. This type of realism is more or less unheard of in the video game world and can only be provided by someone who really knows their stuff. Enter Colonel John Antal, US Army (Ret.).

Vice President of Knowledge Operations and Military and Historical Director at Gearbox Software, developers of the Brothers in Arms series, Colonel Antal is an Airborne-Ranger officer, and a published author of scores of magazine articles, as well as several fiction and nonfiction books on military topics. Most importantly for the subject at hand though, he is also a major force behind the development of the Brothers in Arms series. Recently I was able to catch up with him and ask some questions regarding the newest title in that line, Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway.

Colonel John Antal, Military and Historial Director for 'Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway' in Kandahar Afganistan in 2008
Colonel John Antal, US Army (Ret.) in Kandahar, Afghanistan in September, 2008 during a visit with the paratroopers of the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division
Amazon.com/games: The modern military is full of cutting edge technology, but I'm sure that some readers will be surprised to hear that a career military man, such as yourself, plays such a pivotal role in the development and marketing of a video game. How did this come about? And did you have any video game experience prior to the Brothers in Arms franchise?

Colonel Antal: I just returned from a ten day visit with US and NATO troops in Afghanistan, and I can report to you that when Soldiers are not fighting, they are training for the next fight. The more time Soldiers spend training in realistic simulated battles, the less blood spilled in battle. During my thirty years in the US Army, I trained thousands of Soldiers using constructive, virtual and live military simulations. Once I retired, it was an easy leap for me to switch my experience with military simulations into value-added content for video games.

Amazon.com/games: I know you've probably been asked this question a thousand times, but let's make it a thousand and one. Operation Market Garden, the WWII allied offensive that Hell's Highway is based on culminated in a German victory. Why make a video game based on a defeat?

Colonel Antal: Market Garden was not a complete success, but war is fought at many levels. At the squad level, war is about fighting for the next hill, hamlet or road junction. Victory and defeat is very clear in a squad - when the battle is over you either have won and lived, or have lost and most of your comrades are dead or wounded. In Brothers in Arms, Hell's Highway, we created a historical fiction that is true to the real history of the battle in ways no other game has approached. The true story of the battle for Hells Highway is dramatic and a worthy story. If we told only stories of victories, we wouldn't be telling true historical fiction. War is about victory AND defeat, gain and loss. Telling both is part of being true to the actual history.

Amazon.com/games: As a follow-up to this, because this game is based on a very real and in many senses, tragic event for the forces involved and the civilian population, was there more pressure to stick to the facts in this game in order to get things right? And if so how did your team ensure this?

Colonel Antal: Yes. We have done our best to make the game the most authentic WWII experience ever. Our goal is to put you in the boots of a true-to-life squad leader in the 101st Airborne during the fight for Hell's Highway. This game addresses the true history of the Battle for Hell's Highway, uses realistic tactics and requires you to lead a rifle squad in ways that no other game has ever done.

Amazon.com/games: The game's story is centered around the events of an American squad, but since Operation Market Garden was an allied offensive, will players get to control, or even better, play as other allied forces? And will there be any playable German characters?

Colonel Antal: The player will play as an American, Staff Sergeant Matt Baker. If you want to learn more about the British, the Dutch Resistance and the Germans, read my companion novel to the game, "Brothers in Arms, Hell's Highway", published by Ballantine Books, Random House. There will also be a history book out in January 2009 that explains the battle for Hell's Highway in day-to-day detail with maps, historical photos, screenshots from the game and much more. Shop for the Colonel's companion novel, "Brothers in Arms, Hell's Highway."

Amazon.com/games: I've read that Hell's Highway will contain a whole new multiplayer experience. Can you shed some light on how this experience is different from what previous games in the series offered?

Colonel Antal: Multiplayer is really exciting. Our multiplayer design is different from other games because it brings squad game play on-line. We created a team based game, where the team-based aspect is about squad organization. The game will select (or players will vote on) a commander on each team. There can be up to 20 people in the game, 10 per team. The teams will go after objectives in each map that will be resolved in rounds.

Amazon.com/games: A common criticism in squad-based games is that AI enemies engaged in singleplayer modes are too easily outwitted, which is obviously something that should not happen on a real battlefield. Was dealing with this a consideration in the development of Hell's Highway?

Colonel Antal: Yes, the team did a good job at creating a robust enemy AI that is clearly a tough opponent. Players will be excited about this feature.

Amazon.com/games: Hell's Highway will feature a wide variety of weapons, not only used by US forces, but also those of allied troops and the Germans. Are all of these usable by any character and if so does each have specific ammo?

Colonel Antal: All the small arms -- pistols and rifles -- will be useable, as well as most of the crew served weapons (like machine guns). Players can choose from semi-automatic rifles such as the M1-Carbine and M1-Garand, to machine guns such as the M1A1, bazookas such as the M9A1 and pistols. To check out all the weapons you can use and see them in action, check out the website (www.brothersinarmsgame.com in 'the game' section).

Amazon.com/games: Hell's Highway is the first Brother in Arms title to come to Next-Gen platforms. How much has the visual clarity made possible on these platforms helped in the series' ongoing quest for authenticity?

Colonel Antal: The visual clarity is stunning in this game. It makes use of the Unreal 3 Engine technology to deliver incredibly realistic, authentic and cutting-edge 3D environments. The game also has unprecedented character design - with lifelike characters who look, talk, move and think with incredible realism.

Amazon.com/games: Hell's Highway is the third game in the series featuring Sgt. Matt Baker, and now Sgt. Joe Hartsock. These two have differing views on the acceptable costs of war and have traded off command duties in the last two games. In Hell's Highway both lead separate squads, but Sgt. Baker appears to be front and center. Will the game feature the ability to play as either sergeant? And regardless, is this dichotomy of outlook regarding command as much an attempt at realism in the field as anything else in the game?

Colonel Antal: The player will play the role of Baker. The story of Baker and Hartsock, and their different approaches to leadership is a vital part of the story that I many of our fans will find intriguing.

Amazon.com/games: I don't recall tanks playing too much of a role in earlier Brothers in Arms games, but one of the nicer videos I've seen indicated that they might be prominent in Hell's Highway. This seems a nice touch considering that Operation Market Garden's objective was to secure a path for armored units crossing into Germany. What exactly will players be able to do with tanks and what other new units and/or changes to the control scheme can players expect to see?

Colonel Antal: The player will be able to fight as part of a Sherman Firefly crew and will be able to battle German Panzers head to head.

Amazon.com/games: When last I saw Hell's Highway demoed, one of the things that stood out in my mind was the destructibility of environments and cover. Considering that the game in filled with weapons of varying destructive power, I thought this was a fantastic and natural addition. Can you give a few details on this for our readers?

Colonel Antal: Destructible cover allows the player greater tactical flexibility. Now you can create a flank by blowing away flimsy cover that would normally block your maneuver. The destructible cover system was modeled using real physical properties and behaviors, so weapons will actually damage, dent, scorch and destroy the world around you. It's a great addition to the game that gives players a truly authentic experience.

Amazon.com/games: Having grown up myself watching movies like A Bridge Too Far, The Guns of Navarone/Force 10 From Navarone, Where Eagles Dare, The Dirty Dozen, Kelly's Heroes, The Longest Day, etc. I've often wondered why the events of WWII have not been more heavily mined for game subject matter. With the continued success of the Brothers in Arms franchise and others, as well as the power of Next-Gen technology, do you see this changing?

Colonel Antal: I strongly believe that powerful, dramatic human stories provide an exciting medium for video games. WWII was a vast WORLD WAR with countless powerful, dramatic, human stories. Anyone who is bored with WWII hasn't studied the war in depth. The stories from WWII have importance relevance to us today and are archetypical examples of the moral dilemma of war. No sane person wants war, but if you value life and liberty, sometimes you are forced to fight. I expect that we will be telling these stories and incorporating them into our games for many years to come.

Amazon.com/games: Since the framework of the Brothers in Arms series is the allied invasion of German-occupied Europe and the battles that would eventually make up the march towards Berlin/the race to beat the Red Army there, can players expect to see more from Sgt. Baker and his squad in the future, perhaps at the Battle of the Bulge and beyond?

Colonel Antal: As long as I have anything to do with it, the answer is YES.

Amazon.com/games: Finally, because it's interesting to pick the brains of people behind the games, do you mind telling our readers what games you are playing and/or what you are reading these days? Also, I know that you have authored several fiction and nonfiction books as well as articles. Are you working on anything new that you might want to tell us about?

Colonel Antal: I'm an Airborne-Ranger and have been a combat officer all my adult life. I pretty much like to play anything with WAR in the title!

Many thanks to Colonel Antal for taking taking some time to give us his insights into the impact that the historical events of WWII, as well as actual combat tactics, have played in the creation of Hell's Highway and the Brothers in Arms franchise as a whole. We wish him, Gearbox Software and Ubisoft much success with the new game and look forward to the next installment in the Brothers in Arms saga, where players may find the Screaming Eagles of the 101st Airborne fighting their way to Berlin and an eventual rendezvous with VE day.

Way better than COD 4
Look I love story lines and it seems that Ubisoft delivered again!. BIA is an awesome shooter with a great story line. My only complaint is that the oppsing soldier seems to have to be active to be able to kill him. But other than that its a great game. I much prefer it over COD. I suggest buying a copy for the single player because the online version is dead. I think the graphics are superb and like I said the story is compelling.

Graphics 8.5
Story 9.5
War time feel 10
Weapons 8
Main character 9.8

Great Game!
This was a Christmas present for my son. He loves this game on XBOX live. He plays it all the time!

A great alternative to the call of duties out there
Let me start out by saying that this games storyline is one of the best out there. The graphics are in my opinion just as good as they need to be. Gamplay is also very fun and is a mix of Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 and Call of Duty 2. Unless you have no variety in your life you should give this game a try, but of course download the demo first.

Worth a play but not a classic.
Too many cut scenes and not enough replay value make this Operation Market Garden game nothing to write home about.

Like many of the other reviewers, I too am a nostalgic World War II fan and I did enjoy some things about the game. The graphics are okay for an early to middle-aged 360 game, but you'll find yourself longing for more. I believe the sound is pretty nice, although I am also playing it on a 7.1 speaker system with Dolby Digital EX sound. The irony of the game in my opinion is the squad-based gameplay, which really ends up with YOU doing everything, while your AI comrades just fire their weapons in a direction. Now don't get me wrong, the allied AI will kill soldiers, but YOU will be doing the flanking and thinking while the "army zombies" just sit and shoot. I found myself bored (and eventually aggravated) with the battles after just two or three rounds, and they NEVER changed. Your soldiers will also shout the same generic war cries such as "I don't think they speak English!" throughout the entire game.

Another reviewer covered this well: There is ONE allied tank and ONE axis tank in the game. British "Firefly" and German "Panzer IV" tanks make cameos but again leave much to be desired. The times when you control the tanks are indeed like mini-arcade games. How about a Hetzer in the game? Or a King Tiger? Or a STuH 42 Assault Gun? Even my game Close Combat: A Bridge too Far which debuted in like 1995 had a vast arsenal of German firepower -- so why can't my modern-day Xbox 360 game do the same?

The voice acting is overall decent, but it's just way too hard to take most of the scenes seriously. Perhaps the ambience in the background was so quiet that it focused ALL of your attention on the voices. I don't know for sure... the voice acting just seemed a little off, or a little too cliched.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, the accuracy of the weapons doesn't quite make sense. For example, I have a better time picking enemies off with the MP40 submachine gun instead of with the carbine or M1 Garand. I will literally have my SMALLEST crosshair (meaning I've taken the MOST amount of time to steady my weapon) on an enemy's head, pull the trigger and somehow still miss two, maybe even three shots in a row. Strangely though, I will fire off a few random spurts from the MP40 and take out enemies... EH!? I continuously miss shots with the .45 although the sight is directly on enemies. And on the HARDEST difficulty, you don't even HAVE a crosshair.. Oh my that sounds like something I want to spend several hours attempting....

Overall, the game is not garbage by any means. BUT, I DID buy this game for FIVE DOLLARS from Sears and I would advise you not to spend much more than that on the game. Don't pay .00+ for this game. Hope this review helped!

Horrible
The game play for this game is just terrible. I couldnt wait for the campaighn to be over. most slow paced game i ever played.

Story
The story of how the heroes and villains of Mortal Kombat and the DC universe could find themselves not only existing on the same plain, but battling each other revolves around coincidental victories in the respective realms by Raiden and Superman. In Raiden's case it was a victory over Shao Kahn, while Superman bested Darkseid. These occurred at the exact same time and involved inter-dimensional elements, which somehow merged their two enemies into one being, Dark Kahn, while allowing the characters of the two universes to interact. In this merging the powers of the heroes and villains are scrambled as well, making some stronger than they ever were, and leaving others vulnerable for the first time in their lives, allowing each to battle on more or less equal footing. And battle they do without realizing that the uncontrollable rage that they feel for each other is actually the work of Dark Khan.

Gameplay
Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe being a fighter, gameplay consists of one-on-one battles, both in local play and online, in which players can choose a character from either side who will face off against a counterpart from the other. Each character has unique attacks and special finishing moves, and fighting arenas vary depending on whether your character comes from the Mortal Kombat or DC universe. Keeping with the reputation for brutality in the Mortal Kombat franchise, characters from this side will have access to fatalities, while the historically less overly violent DC Comics characters will execute "heroic brutalities," which are end moves where the opponent while beaten, is not killed. The game also features new gameplay mechanics such as: Freefall Kombat, in which players can engage in extended combat while in midair; Klose Kombat, during which the play angle moves to a close-up view of the action; The "Test Your Might" mini-game where you smash your opponent through walls; and Rage Mode, which increases the power of a character's attack by 50% and provides protection against being stunned by an opponent.

Playable characters in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe consist of some of the most popular heroes and villains from both universes, with most being available from the beginning of the game and some unlockable throughout. They include the following:

mortal kombat vs dc universe
I love this video game I never get tire of it, the only thing that I wish tobe a litle better is the punches & kick sound, but other than that the video game is great I love it.

thank you!

All the Action none of the Gore
For those Soccer Mom's and Baseball Dad's who are worried about the 'terrible violence' in video games, this one removes a lot of it.

There are no fatalities, instead there are Villains and Heros or some-such nonsense.

The game-play and replayability is Very Good, but the depth of the game seems very surface level. Unlike other MK games that seem to have depth, codes, secrets, hacks, cheats, and even the famed "TOASTY!" Where you hit a button sequence and fight a character in order to unlock him this game complete LACKS the subtle charms of other MK games.

Where it delivers in SPADES however is DC vs MK!!! EVERYONE has always wanted to see it and finally we do...unfortunately, the game lacks inventiveness. They don't explore a Magical Morph Fight between the Green Lantern and Shang Tsung, an Eye Laser Death match between Super Man and Kano, a Lightning Fight between Raiden and Captain Marvel, the options are ENDLESS and yet none of them were explored...and for that matter, why does Captain Marvel's Electricity hurt Raiden and Vice Versa?

What it ends up as is a Rock Solid game that peforms well, but doesn't do much to satisfy the fan-boy lust on either side of the aisle.

And one last thing, while the End Boss is REALLY intimidating (and cheap) his powers aren't all that impressive. With the combined might of the dark-lords a few planets or dimensions or whatever, you'd think there powers would be substantially greater and that they would have some sort of split-personality psychological break-downs at certain points...

Fun and not too complicated fighting game
I recently purchased this game because I am a huge fan of DC and I had found a good deal for the game. The mix of the two worlds of DC and Mortal Kombat was better than I had expected. The graphics are gorgeous and the fighting is very easy to pick up so you dont need to spend weeks figuring out all the moves to be able to compete(although it would help a bit) Each character has there own special moves so none of the characters have the same punches/kicks and combos. My 2 young daughters also love DC(I have no idea where they got that from), so I let them play it too, after I had adjusted the setting to remove the blood and setting the difficulty level to 'Very Easy'. They love the game! It is a very fun game that is a casual fighter title. Even my youngest daughter who is 4 is performing some moves on the game that I'm wondering how she did it. The miracle of button mashing :)
Overall it is a fun title.....especially if you are a big DC fan.
The only gripe I have (which is not the fault of the game manufacturer since they went bankrupt) is there is no downloadable content nor will there most likely never be. I jumped on hearing the rumors of them making downloadable characters of Green Arrow, Aquaman, Robin, Doomsday, etc. But that day will never come. Thats too bad.
So if you love DC Universe and wanted to be in control of the biggest names they have to offer then I suggest you check this game out. Just keep in mind that what you get in the box is all you will ever get since there wont be any additional downloadable content. Enjoy!

awsome
I luv this game!! for a great price!!! Just like new!!!! Thanks for a great product from a great price!

Good, but could've been better
I was all hype about purchasing this game when I first heard about its arrival. I was expecting a much better display of gameplay than that which was produced. It has great graphics, interesting attacks, and realistic stages. It was too much of a rush job over all and needs alot more tweaking in my opinion. It's great to have if your collecting Mortal Kombat games, but I personally wouldn't recommend buying it.
