BEWARE!!!
When buying this product DO NOT expect it to work with anything other than guitar hero 3 and rockband 2, because it will work with NOTHING else.

SUCKS.
I expected this to work using the instructions from another customer of this product, and it didn't work. the guitar didn't even turn on when i put the new batteries that i came with. spent one hour trying to use instruction manual and instructions on the internet with no luck. this guitar is a dud, DO NOT BUY. i obviously got what i payed for.

This just in: Currently working with new PS3 firmware - GH5
Since all the reviewers here left outstanding comments, perceptions on size, compatibility, interface pro/con's, I'll keep this short:
After reading the PS3 firmware bricking updates (confirmed on the Nyko Web site), I unpackaged the Frontman for an initial-slash-last go round attempt at trying before trashing this would be paperweight. Surprisingly enough - when plugged directly into a USB hub, this controller worked without a hitch. (It did not, however, respond to being piggybacked to a GH5 wireless fob). Sensitivity, synchronicity remained consistent across several songs as well.
Advice sensically remains to stick to standard GH5 controllers. Still, if you've got a dormant Frontman lying around pre 3.1 firmware, it may be worth re-attempting a go.

Useless POC
I tried everything. I looked up fixes, etc. Nothing worked. It just didn't work for my PS3 Rockband and Rockband 2. Gave it away to Salvation Army. Don't waste your money.

Great Substitute for Prince Guitar
I purchased this to complete my costume for 2009 Halloween as I was dressed as Prince. The next closest thing was an air up guitar they sell in Europe. I realize this wasn't what the guitar was made for, but it served it's purpose =). If you'd like to see pictures, send me a message =).
