    doesn't fit
I ordered this for my 160 GB PS3 but no where in the description does it say it won't fit a 160GB. The access port is on the wrong side. Just some advice!!!

PlayStation 3 Intercooler by NYKO is not compatible with my PS3
PlayStation 3 Intercooler by NYKO is not compatible with my PS3. I'm not sure is it compatible only for the old model of PS3.
I already bought it. Now it become useless for me

Dont listen to negative reviews...product is great
when reading the reviews for this product there was 3 main complaints i noticed....1. the system is VERY LOUD. yes you are adding extra fans to your system so it will be a LITTLE louder....but its not much louder than when your stock ps3 fans kick into its high setting. I laughed about how much people complained about it once i heard the fans myself...not that loud honestly. 2. the system "steals" power from your ps3 making it burn out faster or perform less effectively....not true. the power core of the ps3 requires 300 watts...the power cord the ps3 uses is more than capable of powering both the extra cooling unit and the ps3 at the same time. 3. People complained about not being able to turn the system off from their controller. NOT TRUE. you can turn off your system from your controller still...the system powers down but does not turn off the cooling system..which is a GOOD thing. Your system becomes hot after only a few minutes of game play. turning off this system also turns off your stock ps3 cooling fans allowing the residual heat that the cpu and gpu put off to stay in the system...this is when your components degrade the most..the fact i can leave the fans ON and blow this heat out while the system is off is GREAT. then simply hit a switch and the extra cooling unit powers down. Bottom line the extra cooling unit works...and it works GREAT. i keep the fan on its lowest setting for about an hour or two....if i play longer i switch it all the way up to keep my system at the perfect temperature during gameplay. I hope this review is helpful as all the negative reviews ALMOST made me not buy this great product. It does it job and it does its job well...my system is happy its cooler and im happy i dont have to worry about my system EVER overheating due to very long gaming sessions.

    A nice unit
As others have noted it is a little noisy but just above my room noise. And not as noisy as some of my computer coolers in the past.
I think the features far outweigh the negatives.
1: Not taking up a USB port to power the fans is great I don't know why other coolers don't use a pass through power feature.
2: The variable speed fan is a good touch.
3: Having the power switch on the front now is a bonus.
If you can hear the fans over NFS or MW 2 you have better hearing than I.
For the most part I should have gotten one a long time ago.

    JUNK
I had high hopes for this device. It worked well for 2 weeks. Now, when I turn it on, it whines VERY loudly (a little less than a blender) and I have to bang it to get the noise to settle down. It's not a lot of money but it sure is a waste of it.
It would NOT recommend this AT ALL.

Why an Intercooler for the Wii
This product was only made so that Nyko can just eat up all our money. Intercooler is made for the Xbox 360... Wii doesn't overheat!!!

Self attacthing with USB powerd pass through connection
Seems to work great. It might be overkill, but with all the problems the PS3 and X-Box had with overheating, better safe then sorry.
It fit pretty good on the back and is USB powered so no AC power connection. It has a Pass through connection so it didn't take up the only USB slot.
The only CON I can think of is, the fan comes on every 10 minutes or so, whether the Wii is on or off. I guess the Wii has an always on USB connection when the Wii is plugged in. The fan is a bit noisy so it would grate on you after awhile but mine is in a cabinet, otherwise I would just unplug the Wii when not using it.

Something from Nyko that actually works
The Nintendo Wii is a very hot running system, believe it or not. Also it has the tiniest and slowest fan of all time built into it. Anyone who took apart their console is simply amazed that such a ridiculously little thing would cool down the Ati BBQ inside. During long gaming sessions I always touched the side to see if it was hot and I can say oh man it's burning in there. Reached to the back to see if any air was moving out, nope, nothing. Frankly, I didn't expect that miniature fan doing anything other than cooling it's own tiny motor but no air moving at all? You gotta be kidding me. Seeing all those people who got artifacts and graphical glitches because of overheating made me act fast. So I looked around some reviews and finally bought this. After all I think this is a worthy investment. But let me break it down for you:

    PROS

-It really works: Moves a decent amount of air and effectively cools down your console.
-Nice design: Does not block any ports or connections, does not suck on any USB ports, fits tight and secure and best of all, does not look like an ugly tumor has just infested your gaming console.

    CONS

-Loud: Really loud, like a miniature vacuum cleaner. But not louder than a PS3 Slim going full blast on a God Of War 3 gaming session.
-No ability to turn it off: If you leave your console on for the WiiConnect24 service, forget it because this contraption does not turn off unless you hold the power button on your Wii and force it to standby (red led) mode.

If you're using the Wii on it's stand and in an open area such as a desktop than don't bother really. But if you're using it inside an entertainment cabinet or near several other electronic devices in a cramped space than you MUST get this.

Save the cost/worry of buying a new Wii system!
Our internal fan had stopped working on our Wii system and we were debating buying a new system for Christmas or having it fixed, when I happened across this external fan. It solved the problem and saved us hundreds of dollars. It took a minute to install over the rear air intake and the Wii has not turned of once since we purchased this.

The ONLY negative to the Intercooler is the fact that it stays on if there is power to the Wii. (If the fan turned off when the unit was off, but still hooked to power, it would be 5 stars)

We don't use our Wii for internet, so the fan became annoying when the game is not in use. (The sounds from the games themselves, diminish the annoyance of the fan with the kids are playing it.) We just hooked the system up to a power cord with a switch and have the kids turn the cord off when they are done playing, so it is really a non-issue.

Great find! It was worth the risk for the price and glad that it was a risk worth taking!

    Works Great
The fan snaps right in with no issues. It does not interfere with any connectors on the back. Yes, it makes noise and is louder than the factory internal fan, but it does move more air and once you start playing a game, you don't even notice the fan noise. Sure you're going to hear it when it's quiet in the room, if you have the WII on, but once I start playing, I never hear it. Definitely recommend it.
