PS3 FragFX Controller

Manufacturer: SplitFish Gameware
The FragFX features a separate right hand mouse controller and detachable left hand grip controller, ideal for experiencing the traditional PC mouse and keyboard style gameplay of shooter games in a console environment. The right hand mouse controller has the complete set of PS3 controller buttons. The mouse is used during game play to shoot, look left, right, up and down for that same PC style game play experience on the PlayStation 3.The mouse is optimized for navigation within the recently announced PlayStation Home virtual world.A menu mode on the mouse allows it to double as a regular mouse during menu selections. A lap mouse pad and left hand grip cradle is included with the FragFX to allow for comfortable play in a living room setting. The left hand re-programmable grip (nicknamed the "FragChuck" by G4TV) has the full range of 6-axis motion control providing Wii-like motion sensitivity for the PlayStation 3. In games like Resistance: Fall of Man, to reload a weapon or to rifle butt an opponent, the user can swing the FragChuck. The FragChuck also offers a game speed dial and frag button. When the frag button is pressed it slows the mouse down to incremental movement for smooth sniper shots. The speed dial allows for instant fast or slow overall game play. These two additional features let the user get out of battles as fast as they get into them.

unplug the dongle when updating cause the dongle become dead
unplug the dongle when updating cause the dongle become dead.Everything i try it doesnt help ..wut a waste of 4.

Keyboard and mouse replacement it is not.
The response rate is the same as a ps3 controller. While it was easier to aim with it vs a joystick, it was not as accurate at recognizing movement as a real mouse. It did make one mission in GTA4 easier, as I could just not complete it with a controller. Let's call it what it is, a PS3 joystick modded to work as a mouse nun chuck combo. When will Sony and Microsoft realize that when they insist that developers include mouse and keyboard support for games, that Computer Games will become a thing of the past.

RTFM/Use a Gaming mouse pad = Good
I was skeptical when I first saw this, I thought it looked like a great idea and I love using a mouse, but hate using keyboard. So this looks pretty nice. And then I bought it....
I read the manual, as should everyone who uses this, Then I started tuning in the settings (it's not hard), I got it as smooth as I could possibly get it, but it still felt choppy even playing KZ2, I tried a bunch of different mouse pads I had lying around, but the best that worked was my smooth leather couch, I was mad and almost took it back....but then.
I bought a Razor Destructor mouse pad, My goodness, after that I really felt like I was cheating, I first played KZ2 multiplayer, Tested out the sniper rifle, and wow I kicked @sss, Then moved over to UT3 that was bad before the Razor Destructor (super choppy) And again I kicked them all so hard.
But enough about that awesome gaming pad (which was totally worth the money)
Pros:
All buttons are totally customizable
Has Sixaxis and is customizable for different hand postures and angles
Has motion sensitive customization, for any button.
Frag button, used either for slowing the sensitivity or rapid fire
On the fly sensitivity adjustment (very nice)
Cons:
Wired......
Quality is lacking a bit, it should be more solid, like Snake or the Sony controller
No Rumble in the left hand controller
Comes with a worthless mouth pad
Over all, this is a fantastic controller, totally worth the money.
Reading the manual + Using a GOOD gaming mouse pad = Fragtastic Fun :)

Update 02/06/10
I bought a FragnStein, so I'm changing my star rating to 3 stars instead of 5 stars for the FragFx v1, now that I have something to compare to. The comparison of both is very interesting, the FragFx v1 is good, but not stellar as the FragnStein is. Buy a FragFx if you like, but there is better out there on the market, I only say this because I own both.

solid buy, could improve.
I was thrilled to finnally get a mouse controller for my PS3. I hate FPS games using just the controller. The only thing I would like to see from Splitfish is a wireless/bluetooth model. Also, despite the sensitivity being turned all the way up, I still don't get quite the response I'd like. All in all, well worth the price and a welcome addition to my gear.

mmmhh, i dont like it
The left and right buttons are pressure sensitive, then u must apply more force than u use in the desktop.
