Great intro to DDR for kids
I got this for my son to introduce him to DDR. The only gaming system we have is a GameCube and this is honestly the only DDR I could find for the GameCube. (So, if anyone knows of a more adult one, let me know please!) It has been perfect for my son, who is currently 8 years old and has some trouble with coordination. It starts out slowly enough to give him some practice, and he has been able to improve his coordination quite rapidly by following the story mode.

As an adult, I'm horribly out of shape, so for a better workout, I do the free mode (I had to go through the entire story one time first, which I was able to do in one sitting). In the free mode I can put the difficulty up a little higher, which is great for me. For someone who is more experienced with DDR or more in shape than I am, I imagine this game would be too easy. But it has been an excellent fit for our family.

Good game for children - but Wii owners take note
I bought this game because I felt that the clothing and dance moves in DDR were inappropriate for children. Granted, these aspects fly over the heads of children but frankly they are embarrasing for most adults to watch in the presence of children because they are clearly not age appropriate.

The game does not disappoint in that regard while incorporating good moves that are fun to perform and watch. The story mode is a bit too "chatty" but my child doesn't seem to mind.

As a Wii owner, I had to buy separate Gamecube compatible equipment including dance mats and a memory card that will not likely be of any use when I upgrade later to DDR 2 and higher.

Great game to get kids up and moving!
Bought this game for me origanlly but found it a little young. Now my 4 year old grandson is using it. Everytime he comes over he wants to play. It's a great way to get kids up and MOVING. Love it! He can beat the game on easy in an hour. Right amount of time for him and burns off lots of energy. There are higher levels for the more adept player. But even the younger ones can have fun. I just wish there were more of them. Too many kids spend all their time sitting and playing. This is great high energy fun.

Fun for all ages
Hi y'all. i'm not going to comment on the various difficulty levels or features, cause that's been done already. Just a note on my personal experience w/ the game. I turned 57 in August 2009. Had a cardio workup done and doc says I need to get more exercise. I hate exercise!!! The endorphins never seem to kick in and I always feel like I'm being tortured. I think I've tried almost every exercise thing out there. My hubby bought me a Wii for my birthday. I love it and love this game. Scored the game and pad on the cheap on an auction site from a seller who obviously didn't have a clue that they're going for 2+ times what he was asking for the package. I love this game. I know most of you are probably in your 20s or 30s or younger, but there's a fast growing group of baby boomer gamers out there. This game gives me a decent cardio work out on the harder levels, it's lots of fun, I don't feel like I'm exercising (a big plus cause I'll keep at it) and I can play it w/ the kids and grandkids. I worked as a professional dancer when I was younger and really enjoy this game. Especially when I can beat one of my grandkids at it, then I feel like super granny! It even gets my couch potato hubby who's 63 up and shaking his booty. Now if I could just find a game that's this much fun where I get exercise and can learn Spanish too - now that'd be my dream game! So, if you're a subgbug like me and want to start exerciing and enjoying it, get a Wii and this game. PS: I use the mat on a hardwod floor. I just got some of that non-slip thin undermatting made to go under throw rugs and put that down first; the mat stays put even in the most arduous workouts.

I loved it but it was also very short
this game was awesome i love it :D but the only problem is is its length. i beat it in 2 hours. then i tried it again the second time and i beat it in 1 hour and 29 minutes. even though it is really short it is most definetly really fun. i reccomend to people who like to dance or people who dont like to excersise and want a fun way to excersise. give yourself a challenge and do it on hard mode with no breaks ;). i love this game :D
