Good game...Could use some improvements
When I got this game, I couldn't wait to play it! Me and my brother like to play games together so the split screen option was a plus. One thing I didnt get about split screen was that you can only do 1st person veiw and in the campaign and online play, you can play in 3rd person. In split screen and online, you cant take cover like in the campaign... Which kind of sucks... The campaign is fun, challenging, and dosent really need improvements. Over all, this is a pretty good game, just needs some improvements.

Great LAN party game
This game is just fun enough, not the best but I gave it 5 stars cause is one of the few games that support split-screen over LAN and that's a huge difference for me.

The other game I know on the PS3 that supports slit-screen over LAN is WarHawk(another great game).

So, if you are planning to make a LAN party this game a is "must have".

P.S. sry for my bad english ;)

Good, but not with your friends
GRAW 2: The most fun shooter of the year (2007); better than COD 4, better than UT3, and better than Halo 3; So what's with the low rating? Well, let me explain. Now let's start with the singleplayer. Very fun, very strategic, very action-y, great cover system, and the most AMAZING explosion effects ever (at least of 2008 and before.) Sadly the great explosions are the most noteworthy part of the graphics. They do look great, but in some spots with crappy lighting, you can see some really bad animations (if you reload and look at the animation, you'll see it) but The best part is the involvement in your squad's actions. Holding R2 will give you a point of view from behind your squad mates which allows accurate movement commands. You even get a second set of soldiers to control in the middle of the campaign, so you can send group A (which you can customize\choose the soliders Medic, Sniper, Anti-Tank, etc.) to one spot and Group B to another, as well as a UAV which is nearly ALWAYS with you. In some places, you have acces to a helicopter, tank, and even an airstrike. The camera makes you feel like you are in charge of the action at all times. Considering how amazing the campaign is, I loved the game, all through no more than 7 hours. This game is disappointingly short, even on the HARDEST difficulty. The gunplay, teamplay, everything is fantastic. But the value is not. The few extras include 3, cr@ppy unlockable songs, art galleries, and weapons/secret multiplayer gear (have a splinter cell save, Rainbow six save, etc. You can even get an SC-20K) Now, considering all this, This game would do great in multiplayer, right? WRONG. In splitscreen/Lan, it is disappointing to see that 1st person is forced. So I went online. There are tons of modes, decent gear, and the weapons are all there. So why does it suck so bad? Alright the 1st issue is that NO ONE allows explosives (no grenade launcher attachments, no grenades, Rocket launchers, nada.) The other issue is that you can't join mid-match, so most of the time you are waiting for 5-10 minutes for the match to end. Now why the Multiplayer COMPLETELY sucks. It is so stripped down, it isn't even the same game. The graphics; lower res textures, draw distance, colors, everything looks terrible. Especially the explosions. The gameplays differently; there is NO cover system! It is replaced by a peek system, which works appallingly; The maps weren't designed for the peek system, so it is literally useless to use, as it only moves your upper torso, and I mean the UPPER part. The controls as well are abysmal, and feel horribly disjointed. So one of the best games I've played in a while marred by multiplayer, bad extras, and short length. If you can get it for under , I would recommend it.

horrible

Compared to COD 5 and 6, this game is HORRIBLE. Poor graphics is part of the problem. IE, it is very difficult to see where your ennemy is when playing 4 people on a 50 inch TV.

Unseen
Great game. If you have ever played any of the previous Ghost Recons then you already how difficult it is. great great great story line. 10/10

good game but a little glitchy
I liked Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, and since this game was reasonably priced I bought it to understand the references to it in the second game. A fun shooter but there are a few glitches. At times you protect VIPs and they do some strange stuff, like push you from behind cover and exit cover themselves to get killed and fail your mission. For the price, it is worth adding to your collection, just be prepared to put up with the glitches.

Could be really great, but...
I really liked Rainbow Six Vegas 2 so I figured I get this game as well since it's from Tom Clancy and the price is pretty cheap. I think this game could be great. The graphics are nice, the story seems good, and the weapons are fine, too. My biggest problem with this game is the controls. If you are in the campaign/story mode, you cannot adjust the controls to your preferences. This has been difficult for me because I always use the Legacy layout and the game only allows Southpaw. No matter how hard I try, I cannot get used to these controls and so this game is very difficult for me to play. However, when playing multiplayer, you are able to change the controls. I have searched the Internet and haven't found a way to switch the layout from Southpaw to Legacy. Unless there is an update that allows it, this game will probably just sit and collect dust. If you are fine with the Southpaw layout, I would definitely recommend this game.

Great gameplay
GRAW 1 is one of the best games for Xbox. The gameplay is incredible, each map gives you a new way to play and strategize, and the weapons are cool.

What makes this game even better is playing multiplayer on Xbox LIVE. Running team eliminations, capture the flags, or defending territories are a blast with a team. You can even dream up your own game like "president". That's where one player is the president and you have anywhere from 2 to 3 bodyguards (depending on how many are in the room) plus a mole on the other team. You then hide and defend your president from the attacking team. All the while your mole is going around the map killing the attacking team. It's a blast.

Game is A++. And if you like this game then check out GRAW 2.

Solid wargame
I have most of the Recon games in the series and I've enjoyed them all. I think the best part of Advanced Warfighter is the strategy, command options, and realistic fighting sequences (sound effects, explosions, etc). You get to direct your squad throughout the city of Mexico over the course of a few days. If you're looking for a Call of Duty type go in shooting ask questions later approach that doesn't work in this type of game which I do enjoy a change of pace because Recon makes you map out your approach and there are too many corners within the city to ignore possible enemy locations. I think that the Recon game could have a few more boots on the ground in the game. I know the original games for the PC allowed for three teams of two, but may be the next Recon games could return to that and expand to a platoon...

The graphics aren't the best and the online play does not compare to campaign mode. I was hoping the online play would be a little more fun. The good thing about online mode is that you can play with a lot of people in various modes, and you can play multiplayer against AI.

This game is a pain in the neck.
This game is annoying. It really takes work to master all the controls. From aiming, to switching between weapons, reloading, crouching/lying down/taking cover/goggles/battlefield map, etc., etc., this game probably has the most complicated control system of any shooter. Then you have to gain competence deploying all the various resources the game gives you--at the same time, while taking fire from enemies. At many points you command your squad which is walking with you, plus a ground vehicle, plus a helicopter, plus an "eye in the sky" reconnaisance drone! The wheeled vehicle, helicopter and drone have no AI, so they don't do anything unless you command, btw! Not to mention controlling your actual character at the same time.

The other problem is the fact that the character just moves really slowly. He aims slowly, he reloads slowly, he does everything way slowly, and that gets you killed but quick. The aiming is just painfully. freaking. slow. Dudes will blow you away while you try haul your gun around. I'd say the character moves his gun at about 1/2 the speed a person in real life would. When you have the scope up on the rifles, that speed gets cut to about 1/6 the speed it would be in real life. Ridiculously frustrating.

Then there's the fact that you can be blown away with just a couple of shots from enemies whose targeting is impeccable, and who are camouflaged really well. Add to that the fact that it is about 1 million miles and a thousand bad guys between save points, and that any type of healing is even more rare than the save points are!

I like hard games. I really enjoyed Rainbow Six Vegas, for example, depsite the fact that some levels are just killer (like the dark construction site at Dante's!!). But GRAW is just too freaking complicated and difficult in an annoying way. Not in a challenging way--an annoying way. Like when you get continuously blown away and have to restart the level at a point WAAAY back and kill the same 2 dozen dudes all over again. And again. And again. And AGAIN!!!

I've been playing this for quite a while now and despite having long ago mastered all those darn controls and commands, I'm throwing in the towel. Too frustrating.

The Storyline
The horrific nuclear conflict in the Middle East not only killed millions, it also crippled the world's fuel supply. With oil from that part of the world no longer available, crude oil prices skyrocket to 0 a barrel. The vast Russian landmass now holds the largest accessible reserves of fossil fuels, making Russia the world's primary supplier of energy virtually overnight. With the massive economic boom it receives, Russia quickly re-establishes itself as a superpower and restores her military might. In response most of Western Europe unifies to create the European Federation, a new nation destined to be a formidable 21st-century superpower. But things are also changing across the pond. In 2020, the United States is on the verge of finishing construction on the Freedom Star, a controversial orbital military platform that will upset the balance of world power. The European Federation withdraws from NATO in protest. Tensions between the European Federation, the United States, and Russia are building and will soon reach the breaking point. The EndWar is about to begin. Which side will you fight on?

The European Enforcer Corp insignia from 'Tom Clancy's EndWar'
The European Enforcer Corp
The European Federation is a new superpower, founded in 2018 to consolidate political and economic power in the face of the world energy crisis and accelerating security and environmental concerns around the globe. Though publicized as an evolution of the European Union, demanding admission criteria disenfranchised all but the wealthiest nations of Europe. The UK and Ireland declined membership (instead joining the New Commonwealth), as did Switzerland (fiercely neutral as always).Consummate professionals, the European Federation Enforcer Corps is made up of veteran elite counter-terrorist and peacekeeping forces from throughout Europe. Calm and precise, these highly-trained and experienced soldiers are especially skilled in urban warfare. They excel in electronic warfare as well as advanced directed energy weapons technology, and have the fastest battlefield vehicles. The Enforcer Corps also have access to the world's best "less than lethal" weaponry.

The United States Joint Strike Force insignia from 'Tom Clancy's EndWar'
The United States Joint Strike Force
Once strong allies with Europe, the U.S. has broken ranks following the dissolution of NATO and the formation of the European Federation. The two superpowers are now locked in a costly and controversial military space race. This rivalry builds to a crescendo when the U.S. prepares to launch the Freedom Star, a huge military space station that Europe suspects could be used to neutralize its missile shield satellites. An evolution of today's Marine Expeditionary Units, the Joint Strike Force is known for their integration of air and ground combat capabilities. Epitomizing the saying, 'high speed, low drag,' these elite soldiers excel in precision firepower and can rapidly deploy anywhere in the world. Moreover, their stealth technology and the accuracy of their weapons are second-to-none.

The Russian Spetsnaz Guard Brigade insignia from 'Tom Clancy's EndWar'
The Russian Spetsnaz Guard Brigades
The world's number one supplier of oil and natural gas since the 2016 nuclear war in the Middle East, Russia has experienced an economic boom of epic proportions. It has used its newfound riches to build up its military to levels beyond the Cold War and is once again a true superpower in the world arena. Soldier for soldier, no force on the planet can match the Spetsnaz Guard Brigades in terms of raw, brute force. Hardened veterans of Russia's many regional conflicts, these troopers are a highly effective, determined, and deadly force. The Spetsnaz tend to focus on heavy weapons and heavy armor, and often ingeniously modify standard-issue equipment to suit their needs, resulting in vehicles bristling with bolted-on weaponry the original designer never dreamed of including.

Warning: Addictive!
This game is awesome. I have never played a game for so many hours as I have this one. It's almost an obsession, there are variables which - once you see them - you have to try. "How is it different to play as this country...what if I get this upgrade instead...what if I station my men in that building...should i make a run for it or stay..." And so on and so forth. It grabs you.

This game took me about a full week to really fall comfortably into, then about a month to understand all I could do with the controls. And now, over a year later I am able to beat the levels on any difficulty. But still, I just keep wanting more and more.

In fact, since I'm a college student, I had to put my XBox in storage, as its too tempting to want to play during the school year. This game is - for me - what the "One Ring" was to Gollum. For this game is my preciousss. Yes, it calls to us now. We must go...

A Really Great Game
This is one of my favorite games on Xbox, and I have nearly all of them. You get to control multiple things simultaneously, fight in awesome boards and locations, use strategy, use nukes, etc. It is a truly awesome game.

Great Game-First Voice Control That Actually Worked
This is a great game, it's fun and challenging. When I first got it I was a little doubtful that the voice control would work, but I was wrong. It works great and this is a very fun game.

fun but short
its an ok game. it has no cut scenes though which made the game a little more basic. The options of military vehicles is decent. but i watched a promo of the creator of the game and he said you could be playing this game on the conquest or whatever the career mode is called for multiple months......boy was I disappointed when i beat the game in 2 days.

WOW the game of my wildest dreams
voice recognition innovative military game ideal,
music 10
game play 10
sound effect 9
replay value 10
learning curve 5-10 mins
go to options press Y to activate the voice trainer program--oddly enough the voice trainer is not tring to learn your voice it is simply tring to get you to speak at the correct volume so the game can understand you, I have to place the mic near my chin for best game play because i get exited during tense battles
this is a sweet streamline military RTS game that any command an conquer fan would absolutely fall in love with

Shifting International Dynamics: The Hazards of PMC Warfare
Set between Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 and Tom Clancy's EndWar from the popular Ghost series, Tom Clancy's HAWX takes place in a world where warfare is constantly evolving--a time when state-sponsored militaries lack the funds and personnel to modernize their forces and elite, private mercenary groups have grown in size and scope to pick up the slack.

The Reykjavik Accords of 2012 defined the role of these PMCs in combat, and they made it fully legal for these groups to purchase from the international armaments market, leading to a shift in the structure of global military power. Over time, you'll do battle on the front lines of both sides as this shift reveals high-stakes arms threats and a terrifying glimpse of the future.

HAWX: The Elite, High Altitude Warfare eXperimental Squadron
You'll begin the game as former U.S. Air Force Pilot David Crinshaw, assigned to provide air support for the well-known Ghost Recon team. You and your fellow HAWX pilots are some of the most highly-trained specialists in the world. Based out of Langley Air Force Base in Virginia, you're tasked with everything from testing secret and experimental aircraft weapon systems to carrying out combat and recon missions, training other top pilots, and attempting to capture enemy technologies.

With the rise of the PMCs, your unique skills in higher demand than ever before. And with 49 playable planes available in game, plus additional planes available to some pilots through pre-order bonuses or VIP memberships, there's no shortage of sleek, fast, deadly aircraft at your disposal as you put your skills to use.

An Iconic, Enhanced Reality System to Help You Deliver Results
When you're in the midst of a firefight, E.R.S. in-game technology can help anyone survive, if you know how to take advantage of it. Featuring incoming missile detection, an anti-crash system, damage assessment, a tactical map, and weapons trajectory control, E.R.S. even allows you to issue orders to your squadron and other units, much like the iconic Cross-Com system in other Tom Clancy games. When you're getting started, you can ease into the rigors of flight and gain confidence by using a special assistance mode that offers support through the E.R.S. This mode can be switched off at any time, deactivating safety features and allowing you to perform advanced maneuvers.

Cutting-Edge Realism and Innovative Multi-Player Modes
Whether you're in a classic F15 Fighting Falcon or a new-generation Gripen, the controls and flight graphics are designed to keep you on your toes. And the game's photo-realistic environments have been created using detailed satellite data. When you pull back on the throttle to jet all over the world, you'll experience this authentic world from a variety of viewpoints.

Game play options aren't limited either, with the campaign featuring solo and multiplayer options with seamless jump in/jump out functionality, and a PVP mode where players can challenge each other to dog-fights for bragging rights, earning experience points and cash, and unlocking additional weapons.

Better than Ace Combat
The reason Hawx is better than ace combat is that you can switch between assistance on and off. when you have this mode off it goes to a different view which is not that great but the thing that is great about is that you can basically stall your plane and it avoids the missile or gets you in the perfect postion in the dogfight. there is really no clear cut way say this but it is truly magnificent and beautiful when you do this manuver. graphics are great, great and wide selection of planes, only problem is that you should be able to land and the missions were to short and i hope they correct that in Hawxs II. great buy very fun

The makings of another Tom Clancy franchise
I was looking for something different to play and I rented this, this being my first console flight sim I was enthralled by the visuals, the feeling of speed and the pure pleasure of hearing the ring announcing that you have a lock and you're free to fire missiles is really just exhilarating. I'm not really sure you can call this a flight sim, since most of the planes handle exactly the same, there's not really anything difficult about flying no knowledge of airplanes or military is required. If this can be called a flight sim then I would compare it to something like NFS: Undercover being a driving sim. I know enough to know that an F-22 Raptor would dominate a bunch of old MiGs and helos and it does but then again so does everything else, get it? Don't purchase this game if you're looking for a realistic military flight sim because I don't think this is particularly realistic, insofar as the planes are concerned. I mean these things, even on hard difficulty, carry a missile payload of over 100. But I think it was a sacrifice in realism for fun which I don't mind at all. The multiplayer is pretty decent, although it's getting old as a game so theres not that many players online whenever I check but I've had some pretty decent team deathmatches and some satisfying co-op games. I also liked all the little nods to other Tom Clancy series' contained in the game, you provide air support for Mitchell and the Ghosts from Ghost Recon AWF a couple times, and are provided intel by one of Third Echelon's Splinter Cells, which was pretty cool because I'm a big fan of both those series' too. Anyways, if/when they make a sequel I'll definitely buy it. I'm really happy with this game, I think most people will be as soon as the get over being scared of the big nasty flight sim that it's labeled as and realize it's a simple easy to pick up and play action game even if you've never played anykind of flight game this is still going to be easy to learn.

awesome game
this game is really awesome to play. it has a good story line and the online play is cool too. there are awesome missions and all of them have a lot of action. all of the jets they have are really fun to use. this game also has like 4 different camera views. there is 1st person,3rd person, cockpit, and this really cool view that lets you take off the assist pretty cool. the part 2 is coming out pretty soon so i would recommend people who like plane games to buy it because in my opinion i think its the best.

Great game, but
I loved playing this game, only problem is that you need a flight joystick because the ps3 controller is the worst thing you could use to play this. I brought the PS3/PC T.fighter stickX and oh my goodness. you will have lots of fun if you like shooting down stuff.

not impressed in comparison
i was excited when i found out there was going to be a jet fighter game out for PS3...considering Ace Combat went retarded and switched only to XBox, shaking my head in disgust as i say that. Ace Combat was and still, as will always be far better and more of an enjoyable experience to play than this mediocre game. Yeah yeah, the graphics and detail...not enough to be on the same playing field of ace combat series. i'm loyal to the series, and this just doesn't measure up to it.

Horrific graphics, gameplay makes up for that
The graphics for rainbow six vegas are awful and at some points in the game it looks like a 3 year old drew a picture and they just plastured on it.

Luckily though tom clancy as always had great games and this one is no different. the gameplay is amazing and ten times more realistic than modern warfare 2. u can use snake cam and all differnt kinds of ways to breach or enter doors. overall just great gameplay which really makes up for the terrible graphics.(spoiler) u start out in some town in mexico and that is when you are introduced to the graphics. the terrible graphics.

overall: graphics are the worst i have ever witnessed on the ps3 and are no where capable of what the ps3 can bring out, but the gameplay and the way u can control and talk to your squad really makes up for the graphics. buy this game, forget the graphics just play for the truly remarkable gameplay.

One Star for Gameplay, But Quality Sucks.
Just another announcement:

Basically, the PS3 version is not worth purchasing. The quality of the picture is too blurry. Just creeping around, achieving undetected from your enemies is just a waste of time, since you too can barely see them haft the time. It's like playing a PS2 game on your PS3. A very bad port to the PS3. I'd get the sequel, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2.

DON'T BUY IT FOR THE PS3!!! Either get it on the 360 or just get the sequel. The picture quality is important when playing. I don't understand why their are so many perfect scores when the picture quality sucks... unless someone can help me with it. Don't bother telling me about HD... it's like tell someone about Wi-Fi, 3D movies, the IPhone, Droid, the world is round and it revolves around the sun. I got it. That's not the case.

Great split-screen co-op offline campaign mode for 2 players
It is really hard to find games with split-screen co-op offline campaign mode for 2 players. I wanted to find games to play with my gf.

My suggestions:
Resistance 1 Fall of Man
Rainbow 6 Vegas 1 & 2
Army of Two (we did not like much)

If you go to Vegas Bring a Gun
This is the most fun I have had in the Tom Clancy universe in a long time. I remeber the original rainbow six and to be honest the is the one game that brings it back. This was a repurchase for me. I had this game before and traded it for Graw 2 but I found that I missed the action and pacing of this game. You really have to think about how to attack a room or situation. The visuals are still tight considering the age of the game. The sound is remarkable, and the fights are intense.

The plot moves along nicely it is a little predicitable toward the end still works. A little warning though if you have'nt picked up the sequel yet do so. (trust me). The next time you land in Vegas bring your gun and your witts. You will need it.

Ehhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
I originally purchased and played through (and am still playing through) Vegas 2, and I absolutely love it. Vegas 1 was a huge let down after playing # 2. The graphics are fuzzy, even on my flat screenm which means I struggle to see the terrorists at long distances, but they still see me. And with two different discs (I have tried two different copies) the snake cam has failed to work (which is a vital part of regular game play). I am done with this game and will just stick with Vegas 2 which is by far my favorite shooter.

good game but a little glitchy

WOW the game of my wildest dreams
voice recognition innovative military game ideal,
music 10
game play 10
sound effect 9
replay value 10
learning curve 5-10 mins
go to options press Y to activate the voice trainer program--oddly enough the voice trainer is not tring to learn your voice it is simply tring to get you to speak at the correct volume so the game can understand you, I have to place the mic near my chin for best game play because i get exited during tense battles
this is a sweet streamline military RTS game that any command an conquer fan would absolutely fall in love with

hiding in the shadows?
this game took the phrase "hiding in the shadows" literally. when you hide from the bad guys it's almost always in a convenient shadow. at the beginning this is fine as you are running around a city at night, plenty of dark shadows. but then later you are inside buildings and bad guys can't see you if you are standing in a shadow in the corner of a hallway, with the lights on! wtf? how weak is that! then you are in the cia headquarters and you can hide from cia operatives in shadows that are in hallways! hilarious, i'm sure one could just stand in a poorly lit hallway in our nations secret agent headquarters and be just plain invisible. also sam moves awkwardly and the weapon controls are stiff and not fluid. another thing that was so lame is that he has a glowing pda on his back and a set of three eye goggles on his head that also glow. so whenever you're hiding you can see these four super bright dots and the whole game you wonder how the enemy doesn't see you. i'm a huge stealth fan, tenchu, metal gear, hitman, all fantastic and all have at least a minimal respect for reality, like when someone is looking right at you, they see you!!!! in those games, in order too hide, you have to be BEHIND a SOLID object or thoroughly camouflaged, not in a shadow in someones kitchen. it's like the makers studied how spiders hid from them in their homes and based that on how sam hides. so lame. the gameplay is kind of fun and the story is ok but it's too repetitive, always looking for shadows. it's like playing mario, jumping from mushroom to mushroom and brick to brick the whole game. whereas in tenchu you can hide on rooftops, behind things, under water, under buildings, in the ceiling, in bushes, etc. in hitman you can hide in the bushes, behind things, and where disguises. in metal gear you hide behind things, hang off of ledges, hide in air ducts, inside boxes, under tables, in closets, camouflaged in the underbrush, inside logs, climb trees, etc.

this game is a pathetic attempt at a stealth game, don't bother.

Holds up well...
This game's graphics look good still today. Played it on 360 backwards compatible system and other than not being widescreen the game looked good and played fantastic. Do yourself a favor and play this game.

For The Inner Spy In You
One of the best series I've ever played, and it just keeps getting better! If you love a little bit of old school in your gaming area, but not too old school, this is the way to go. My boyfriend absolutely loves it, and so do I. Great game to buy, and cheap too!

OVER-RATED
There are a few things this game does right, but one of the most important things it does wrong. The world that you are supposed to be immersed in is a failure. It's very robotic and way too simple. I guess the best way to put it is that it just feels fake. An example of a well done world is the game Fable. Now these 2 games are very different but my point is, when playing Fable, you kind of believe that this place could exist, if only in fantasy. But with Splinter Cell, this world could never exist, fantasy or no fantasy, because the overall execution is just plain crappy. I would look elsewhere if you're looking for a really good game.

Tom Clancy: Splinter Cell
Plot is excellent. Graphics are archaic for today's platforms but if you can look past that then the game is a lot of fun. X Box controls need to be figured out by trial and error because the game instuction manual photos describing controller functions show two buttons on the controllers that no longer exist on X Box 360 platform controllers. Probably a killer game for the original X Box .... but not so much the X Box 360's. Fun game though.
