Rubbish
What a dissapointment, waste of money, time. A complete rubbish. Im submitting this review just now because all this months (since april) i have been tryin to make it work and it was a complete failure. Do noy buy this awful thing.

Excellent
I had the "same" guitar that came with the Guitar Hero Legends of Rock but it doesnt work anymore so i bought this new one. I have to say that it feels so much better than the one that came with the bundle. It feels like it has been perfected, i am very happy with my new guitar, i would defenetly buy it again.

Fun but doomed to fail
I know 11 people with this guitar and it broke for me and all of them. It is fun when it works but the buttons are doomed to fail. I tried many complicated fixes but a week later the buttons just stopped working, again. The problem is that the neck is detachable. Because the neck is detachable the buttons go away from the connections. If it all was in one piece the connections would be aligned and the buttons would work. After a month of using it the yellow button failed. After that the blue one failed. Then the red one. Then the orange one. And now I have this crap guitar with only one working button. This guitar is fun but it won't last long.

Wireless not perfect
This guitar misses notes. It can be frustrating at times especially when you are trying to reach a goal. Also it appears that the batteries were out pretty fast. I am using rechargeable batteries and the guitar works best when they are fully charged. As the batteries lose power, the guitar misses more notes more frequently. It would be nice if it allowed for a wired connection option as well. It is a good guitar if you are a casual guitar hero or band hero player. I recommend getting the newer guitars and only purchasing or using this one as an extra guitar.

Laggy and unresponsive
this guitar is really bad on PS3, i can get 600,000 points on though the fire and flames 4 stars on a GHWT guitar but i can barley pass it with this one these guitars just plane don't work get a GHWT or GH5 guitar

Rock Band 2
I enjoyed this game after work. It takes my mind off everything and I have a good find with great music.

life has improved
this guitar is the best thing that ever happened to me. since receiving it in the mail promptly i have quit my job and gained 15 lbs due to the awesomeness of this product. i no longer want to do anything else aside from being a guitar hero...i mean rock band guitarist. my band and i have conquered many set lists and we do not plan on stopping. i find myself waking up sweating at night with my one hand flicking an imaginary switch on my stomach and my left arm pressing those precious fret buttons i crave. do i like this product? what do you think?

PS3 Rock Band WIreless Guitar
I am very happy with this product. I received it quickly & in great condition.

Well Built, cool looking, genuine guitar
Took some getting used to after using my Frontman guitars the guitar is fine. Built well, and way more realistic than the guitar hero guitars. Like any PS3 guitar or 3rd party anything you will have to use up a USB spot to use the guitar as it requires a dongle to connect it (since the ps3 is bluetooth and the guitars are not). I can't say I every use the lower buttons for solos because frankly its not worth the practice of keeping your fingers really close together and if you have big enough hands its actually more of a hassle. One truly negative thing I will say about the guitar is still annoying is the clicking, the strum bar is silent yet the buttons are anything but. They loudly click everytime you press them. So you better have the volume turned up!

In the end, if you can get over the clicking, this guitar is fine. I don't have a drum set so the two usb ports on the ps3 are enough for my two guitars however for a full "band" it may be an issue that requires a usb hub. The battery life on the guitar is great, and it is very responsive. I bought my guitar from here for somewhere around 25 dollars, which is way below list price for a new guitar so I really can't complain!

Good secondary guitar.
I bought this as a second guitar for Rock Band 2. Just looking at this next to the Rock Band 2 guitar you don't notice much of difference other than color. However, the RB2 guitar is more easily playable due to a slicker fret board. Also the receiver for this guitar does not have a USB in like the RB2 receiver so if you have a PS3 slim you will need a USB hub to play all 4 instruments at once.
Overall, great buy for a second guitar.

Not Good At All
This guitar is not very great at all. The buttons began sticking almost immediately and it disconnects from the playstation on its own all the time. Consumers are not recommended to buy this guitar

great.
I liked this guitar very much. The buttons were really smooth and the strum bar is pretty quiet. The shape is very unique and clever. I must warn you that If you are left handed, DO NOT buy this guitar because The strap on the guitar does not work for left handed.Anyway, the wirelessrange is very, very good. The length of the guitar was perfect for my size and Amazon .com shipped it to my house quickly.

Bien!
Buena compra, funciona para lo que se necesita excelente, funciona con Guitar Hero y Dj Hero a la perfección.

Life expectancy: 4-6 months
Make no mistake: this would still be the guitar controller to have for any of the Rock Band/Guitar Hero games. It's wireless, works well with mics, does everything you need it to do and none of what you don't. Star power deployment can be a bit fickle compared to other controllers but that just takes some getting used to. The fatal flaw is that (thanks to the detachable neck) it's only a matter of time before the controller starts dropping sustained notes, then one button stops working (orange was the first to go on my first, green on my second of these) and then other buttons gradually follow. There are a lot of proposed remedies circulating around the internet for "fixing" a GH3 Les Paul once buttons have stopped working or preventing the breakdown in the first place but these at best will only delay the onset of button failure for a month or two (if at all.) It's a great controller but before you spend the money keep in mind that it's basically disposable and you'll be going through 2-3 of these a year.

Guitar Hero guitar
This guitar was absolutely terrible. Not only was it completely scratched up, but only 2 of the buttons work.

Good at first, but don't expect it to last
Don't get me wrong, I love the Les Paul GHIII guitar. My first Guitar Hero guitar was the X-Plorer controller and it was and is a great guitar to use with the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games, but unfortunately it's not wireless. I got Guitar Hero III with the Les Paul on launch day and it worked perfectly. The strum bar was more quiet than the X-Plorer's, the buttons were easier on the fingers, the conveniences of customizable faceplates and a detachable neck for storage blew my mind, and most importantly, it was a wireless guitar! Fast forward almost three years later and it's not the same sugar coated story. I still enjoy the strum bar and fret button designs, but the neck is the flaw that killed it for me. Since it's designed to come off, the neck has connectors that let the guitar work when the neck is attached to the body of the controller. Over time, this connection gets weaker and eventually makes the controller useless. No matter what I try, the guitar refuses to recognize when I push the green or orange buttons.

If you haven't bought this guitar, I don't recommend it. It'll work great out of the box, but as a product you'll be able to enjoy for years to come, it won't meet your expectations.

Stylish controller for GH
Pretty standard control for the GH games. Everything has worked fine thus far. I have not had the neck-coming-loose problem as described by some others. My first GH guitar, so I wanted to go with the classic Les Paul. Looks really cool, other than that though, nothing too special.

Retire this design
The detachable fret board has a chronic and annoying problem. There are six retractable pins on the inside that have to be cleaned before proper function occures with regular (more than once a week) cleanings to make this guitar work. I discovered this AFTER returning two and then looking up online what was up with this guitar.

I highly recommend future guitar designs to be a one piece body construction. Don't be cheap, just make it right the first time.

DONT BUY THIS!!!!!
We bought this for Christmas and the sound quality is terrible. It sounded like we were using the wammy bar on every single note and it distorted the songs so badly we didn't even want to play with it. I sent it back to the company and after 8 weeks, still do not have the guitar back. I have called the company every day for a week and finally got through only to be told that they don't know if they have my controler they will look and call back.
Buy from someone else!

I wouldn't
I bought this guitar and when it came I was not all that impressed with it. After I used it for a while, I realized I didn't want it for two main reasons. The whammy bar did not work when I received it. Dreamgear would have fixed it under warranty but I would have had to ship it to them costing me , not too expensive but I would be paying for something that didn't work when I received it, Amazon took it back free of charge and covered shipping. The second thing that was just horrible is the amount of noise that the strum bar makes while playing it, you will hear every time you play every note, squeek, squeek, squeek, it drove everyone else nuts including myself. I recently purchased the logitech guitar for the wii and the difference in price equates to a lot better quality.

Perfect Guitar to use with Lego Rock Band
If you are thinking about buying Lego Rock Band for the Wii make sure you buy this guitar! Very fun to play!

Wii Shredmaster Guitar
Guitar mostly works great...I have small hands and using the larger buttons on the normal guitar didn't work well as too far apart to use more than 3 during a game. Only bad thing is that it makes a squeeky noise sometimes while using...not super loud but a bit annoying.

lots of fun
I bought this guitar for my son for Christmas to play Lego Rock Band on his Wii. We had a blast. The guitar worked well - the controller fits perfectly. It even has two sets of buttons - the regular set for older kids and adults and another set closer to the body for smaller children.

Choice of Guitars
I bought this for the color! I had purchased a black one with no extras, but this is cool. I noticed, it's the one grabbed first.

Not working with GH5
no good for gh5.

works for

gh3
ghwt
rb2
ghsh
gh metallica (not sure if with gh aerosmith)

Great for Guitar Hero, notsomuch for Rock Band
I believe I reviewed this item when I first purchased it, but I recently invested in Rock Band 2 and would like to further comment. This Nyko controller has done me right on Guitar Hero, it's worked just as well as the controller that came with my game and for a substantially smaller price! Now, this controller is compatible with Rock Band 2 inasmuch as you can PLAY it with the game, but there is one issue.... you can't activate the star power (GH word, I forget the proper term in RB2). You're supposed to kick the neck up to activate the start power, just like in GH, but it just doesn't play nice with this controller and I can't get it to work. I wouldn't mind so much except that when we're playing in a full band and someone decides to try a setting a little more difficult than they should have, the person using this controller can't "save" them if they fail. Not a big deal if used as a second controller, but just thought I'd let you know.

Great price for a 2nd guitar
I bought this for my guitar hero. Needed a 2nd guitar, saw the price and bought it with really no real expectations other then it working. I found that it is more comfortable then the guitar that came with guitar hero, and have nothing but good things to say about this frontman guitar!

If you value your fingers, don't buy this guitar!
I, like many of you, purchased this guitar because the reviews looked decent and the price couldn't be beat. After about 5 minutes of playing, I packaged it back up and I'm sending it back. The buttons on the neck are so stiff, your hand will hurt after 1 song. Also, the + and - buttons are in a different place than on the original guitar, making it more difficult to hit blindly while playing.

Other than that, it's a nice guitar and seems to be pretty well made. The strum bar is a bit stiffer too, but I didn't mind that so much. If the stiff buttons or the placement of the + and - buttons doesn't bother you, then it's probably worth the money. But if you're like me and you're interested in playing the hard and expert levels, you'll never get there with this guitar. You simply can't move quickly enough in complex passages.

Wireless Guitar
This is the perfect beginner guitar. I love it. Meets my needs. Plays awesome with Beatlesrockband!

Works with Lego Rock Band
Great seller, fast shipment!! Works great with Lego Rock Band for my 10 yr old son.

Be very careful when ordering to make sure it's what you think
I purchased this item for my son and made the mistake of thinking it was the guitar made by activision -- it is an imitation or a knock off.

I had to return the product to the seller, who did refund my money promptly, but I had to pay to ship it to me and to ship it back.

This was an dollar lesson learned -- always make sure of the manufacturer before you buy -- the picture can give the impression you're buying the original but it can be an imitation.

Wammy-Bar Broke After First Day...
After seeing the high reviews that this guitar controller received before I bought it I thought "Why not, it's inexpensive and apparently it work well." Well I'm here to tell you, based on my experience, this guitar controller didn't live up to my expectations...

Initially everything was fine. The guitar looks just as good as the Activision guitar controller that came with Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii. The center yellow fret button was a bit harder to push than the others but after three songs I was getting used to it. Me and my daughter enjoyed playing against each other in battles to prove who was "King (or Queen) of the Ax."

It wasn't more than two hours into playing that I noticed the sounds of my notes were sounding strange - as if I was using the "wammy-bar" all the time. Sure enough, I was! The wammy-bar was stuck "on" the entire time. Nothing I did could keep it from un-sticking.

I sent it back to "Electronics & Video Games Accessories" the next day. So here I am out more than .00 of shipping expenses just because I wanted to save some money from buying the more expensive Activision model.

In short, spend the money and buy the real thing, the Activision guitar controller. My Activision controller hasn't broken with over a year of use.

Basic Wii Guitar Really Rocks!
This is a great Wii Guitar Controller and I really like it for two reasons: 1) it is affordable and 2) it works. It comes with rocker-inspired stickers that my kids appreciated, and it can be upgraded with any number of faceplates that are really expensive (in my opinion). Guitar Hero Rocks and this controller helps make it happen!

wii small guitar
ordered from amazon and recieved next day. great for small kids up to 12 for playing wii. loved it.

NOT COMPATIBLE with all games - only works with older games
This is a great guitar, but be aware it is NOT compatible with newer games, such as Band Hero. It works with most of the older versions of music games (Guitar Hero III, Rock Band 2, etc) but it doesn't work with the newest games. I called customer support about it and they said "too bad." They offered to replace the product if I paid shipping both ways (which is almost the price of the guitar new) but they said it will have the same problem. They said they know it's a problem and have chosen to discontinue the product, but that's it. If you only want to play older games, this guitar is fine. But if you want something that will work on current or future games, I recommend choosing something else.

JUNK
took 2 weeks to get it buttons are way to small and cant play guitar hero 5 with it to make it short and sweet hell if somebody wants mine i will let it go for 30 thats about all its worth

Love it
I bought this controller as a 2nd guitar for Rockband2 (I'm told it does not work w/Rockband1) for the Wii. I guess I got a good one because I have no problem with the action of the buttons (although they do travel further when you press them down than the original controller), and I like the feel of the strum and whammy, no issue for me either with the +/- keys... My only complaint is that the guitar is a bit small overall. The chamber on the back that holds the remote is nicely fitted w/a thumb release for the cord locking mechanism (instead of squeezing the sides). I like all of my Nyko Wii gear, this controller is no exception.

Problems with Guitar Hero 5 compatibility
We bought 2 of these guitars about a year ago to play with Guitar Hero World Tour and 1 of them stopped working after a few months. The other one is fine but does not appear to work with Guitar Hero 5. How annoying to have to purchase new guitars when a new version of the same game comes out!

I'd recommend it
Some (very easy) assembly required, batteries included.
Straight out of the box, you're about 5 minutes away from playing. All you have to do is snap the head stock on, take off the battery cover, and put in some AA batteries (I don't remember if it's 3 or 4), and screw the battery cover back on.
The included instructions are easy to follow, it was a cinch to sync the controller with the consonle.
The strum bar is totally silent instead of having that loud click-click notorious on the old ps2 contollers. However, the fret buttons are noisy. Pushing the button down makes a pretty quiet sound, but when you let go of the fret button to push down another, it makes a fairly loud click or clack. Play the game loud enough, and you won't even notice, though.
The battery life is good as far as I can tell. I've played at least 15 hours and haven't had to change the batteries yet.

Bad Quality
The quality on this guitar is not very good. I purchased this and after playing with it for a day, I was no longer able to use the part that strums the guitar. The up & down on the d-pad also stopped working. This is frustrating because I was looking forward to playing with it for a while. Take my advice, spend a little more and buy a decent guitar.

Broke the very first day
Don't get me wrong, Rock Band and Rock Band 2 are excellent games! Our family has had a lot of fun playing these games together. My problem is that the strum part of this guitar broke the very first day we played with it. We haven't had any problems with any other part of the game (software, bass guitar, drums, microphone).

happy customer
I ordered the Xbox 360 Rock Band Guitar for my Son. We received the product in excellent condition and it arrived sooner than what we thought it would! I will definately purchase from the seller again.

Xbox 360 rock band wireless guitar
The product was as it should be new and in good condition. It was a gift and I am sure they are haveing fun with the game

Rock Band V Guitar
I've been looking for this guitar for a while. I even use the entire Rock Band equipment for music videos.

You get what you pay for.
The only pro to this guitar controller is that it is a cheaper substitute to the Standalone guitar for rock band which is excellent. I ended up buying one after I had this controller for about 3 weeks.

On to the cons. This guitar controller feels very cheap. The strum bar is obnoxiously noisy and squeaky sounding and is quite irritating during game play. The fret buttons need to be pushed down hard at times to avoid missing notes. This causes the fingers to get tired half way through a song. Third, the whammy bar on my controller stopped working completely after about 2 weeks.

I would highly recommend that you spend the extra 20 dollars and buy a Standalone guitar instead of buying one of these for the reasons I listed above. You will not regret it.

Metallica rulz
I bought this guitar to use it with Guitar Hero: Metallica in my PS3...

Excellent guitar, just like the one James use

Looks Good, Plays Bad
This guitar made it through the first song without a problem. Unfortunately, that was it. Starting with the second song ever played on it, the strum bar began missing notes. Even hitting the strum bar with slightly more force failed to produce consistent results, and by the third and fourth songs it was missing about two out of every three notes. If that wasn't bad enough, the fret buttons are rather soft and wobbly. More than once I missed a note simply because holding the fret button down wasn't enough; holding them down STRAIGHT was necessary to hit the note. In all, I was quite disappointed with this purchase. I did get my money back, however.

Pros: Classic design, nice sticker sheet, works with Guitar Hero and Rock Band for both PS2 and PS3 (just not that well, in my experience)

Cons: Buttons and a strum bar that don't consistently work, feels smaller and more flimsy than the regular guitar controllers, takes 4 AA batteries (twice what most controllers do), small strum bar

TAC GUITAR CONTROLLER
Works as well as the Kramer guitar controller that comes with Guitar Hero, but feels a bit more sturdy. Range is at least comparable. With PS2, it was simply plug and play. I have used it with World Tour, GH III, and GH Encore Rocks the 80s. Button location is different, but manageable. It has two sets of fret buttons, one being close to the body, which would probably be good for children. It comes with a belt clip you can use instead of the strap. It is Rock Band compatible, but I have not verified that.

Cons: The dongle is rather bulky, since it is wired with a PS2 connector and a USB connector. The guitar does not break down like the Kramer; that may not necessarily be a bad thing because the contacts between the neck and body cause problems with the Kramer.
