A second guitar is a must
If you want to have the most enjoyable play time with this game a second guitar is a MUST!!!! I would say even a thrid or fourth could be pretty amazing!

This PS3 Guitar Hero Les Paul Wireless Guitar was a Great Gift for Our Son!
We bought this PS3 Guitar Hero Les Paul Wireless Guitar for our son for a Christmas Gift, and he has had so much fun playing it! This product is everything it was claimed to be, and we will definitely buy from this seller again! Shipping time was EXCELLENT and it arrived in EXCELLENT condition!

Compatible with guitar hero 5 & rock band 2 yeah!!!!
Wasn't sure if this was going to work with games:PS3 Guitar Hero 5 or Rock Band 2 It does...AWESOME. Had problems locating 2nd guitar for guitar hero 5 PS3, this does the job and for the price I'm gonna order a couple more so we can all play. I love the compatibility of Guitar Hero 5 with Rock Band 2; drums, guitar, bass etc....
A big high 5 on this one wtg....thanks

stewiebro
My son recieved the guitar shortly after I ordered it for him and we owned it for a little more than a month now and he says it is a blast. He has never had any trouble with it. His small hands fit very well around the neck on this one unlike the guitar that comes with other Guitar Hero games. The buttons work immediatly when you puch them unlike some others I have tried. All I can say is "He Loves The PS3 Guitar Hero Les Paul Wireless Guitar" Thanks.

Very unresponsible and barely works in Guitar Hero
This has to be the most unresponsive guitar controller for Guitar Hero. The first time I played GH with this guitar, I immediately switched to the analog controller (one of the few PS3 GH games that I could use analog controller on) because this controller simply did not work. I was also disappointed that it had such a poor battery life, so I always had to keep changing the batteries. This guitar was included when I bought the GH III and Les Paul guitar bundle. Amazingly, the quality of the game is completely the opposite of the guitar's quality. I highly recommend GH III, but if you want to get the most out of GH III, you should save your money and buy the World Tour guitar.

guitar stinks
Rating is for the guitar that comes with the PLAYSTATION 3 RockBand. This was a gift for my daughter for Christmas. The guitar strum was DOA. The whole unit made a funny humming noise. Followed the directions from the company for a return after being on hold for an hour plus. They said to use "canned air". We searched all day to find any store open to buy the canned air to spray into the strum. No luck there. Finally got the canned air--still did what it did before, which was to not really move at all on the down stroke. There are enough bad reviews on this and the strum to suggest that there is no quality control or testing of batches prior to shipping. Now we have to pay for a return (bought on Amazon). The packaging is so tight that repacking to send to Amazon is crazy. Now we have a can of canned air--that we never needed or wanted before.

Get guitar hero guitars instead :)
The one that came with my RB2 had a busted overdrive too - I opened it up to check the tilt sensor and it was fine. If I plugged guitar in the PC, it WOULD send a signal once I tilted past 15 degrees or so, but in the RB2 game with the ps3, it didn't care. Something was wrong.

Solution: Picked up cheap guitar hero game for with 2 wireless guitars and hubs, gave away one guitar.. I like the strum better, and overdrive works. Also looks cooler.

(I gave the guitar hero game away haha)

No overdrive
I just got this today, and it works perfectly fine if you don't want to go into overdrive. Trying to deploy overdrive with this thing made we want to scream. I felt like smashing it into tiny little bits because I would spend so much time frustrated at it while trying to deploy overdrive that I would completely fail out of the song. Don't buy this. Look for the newer model.

Better than the rest
I've played GH, RB1, RB2, and the WarBeast guitars. The RB1 is still my favorite, to the point that I've ordered another RB1 guitar to have as a backup when one of the others dies. I don't know if anyone else has tried this and had this issue, but when playing one RB1 with one RB2 guitar, there's a lot of notes missed - I think there's trouble with the wireless signals between the two different guitars. But I've gotten more 100% with my RB1 guitar than any of the others...

worth the buy
i really like it, but the thing that they got wrong was that they made the strum bar silent and the frett buttons loud and clanky, what they should of done is make the strum bar a little louder and the fret buttons silent.

overall: great looking guitar controller and plays well.

bad equipment
I bought this guitar and noticed on the hour playing it that the product was defected and didn't work properly.
need to return it but it looks like it's gonna be a hassle doing it for the time it took it to arrive

Playstation 2 Guitar Hero Wireless Guitar
INITIALLY GUITAR HAD A BAD TRANSMITTER BUT SELLER QUICKLY ANSWERED EMAIL AND SHIPPED OUT A NEW TRANSMITTER WHICH FIXED THE PROBLEM. QUICK DELIVERY VERY SATISFIED AND WILL BUY FROM SELLER AGAIN.

Guitar for PS2
This product is exactly as seen for much more in the store. Great deal!

2 of these work great for us...
We have 2 of these controllers and 4 people in the house that play with them. A couple of us play on expert and the others on medium/hard. We've had these for close to a year now and never had any problems. They lock onto their signals (both of them together) and show no lag whatsoever. They work great with all Guitar Hero AND Rock Band games. No signs of wear or problems of any kind on either. Battery life is lengthy. I can't recommend these enough for your PS2.

Guitar Hero guitar
This guitar was absolutely terrible. Not only was it completely scratched up, but only 2 of the buttons work.

Good at first, but don't expect it to last
Don't get me wrong, I love the Les Paul GHIII guitar. My first Guitar Hero guitar was the X-Plorer controller and it was and is a great guitar to use with the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games, but unfortunately it's not wireless. I got Guitar Hero III with the Les Paul on launch day and it worked perfectly. The strum bar was more quiet than the X-Plorer's, the buttons were easier on the fingers, the conveniences of customizable faceplates and a detachable neck for storage blew my mind, and most importantly, it was a wireless guitar! Fast forward almost three years later and it's not the same sugar coated story. I still enjoy the strum bar and fret button designs, but the neck is the flaw that killed it for me. Since it's designed to come off, the neck has connectors that let the guitar work when the neck is attached to the body of the controller. Over time, this connection gets weaker and eventually makes the controller useless. No matter what I try, the guitar refuses to recognize when I push the green or orange buttons.

If you haven't bought this guitar, I don't recommend it. It'll work great out of the box, but as a product you'll be able to enjoy for years to come, it won't meet your expectations.

Stylish controller for GH
Pretty standard control for the GH games. Everything has worked fine thus far. I have not had the neck-coming-loose problem as described by some others. My first GH guitar, so I wanted to go with the classic Les Paul. Looks really cool, other than that though, nothing too special.

Retire this design
The detachable fret board has a chronic and annoying problem. There are six retractable pins on the inside that have to be cleaned before proper function occures with regular (more than once a week) cleanings to make this guitar work. I discovered this AFTER returning two and then looking up online what was up with this guitar.

I highly recommend future guitar designs to be a one piece body construction. Don't be cheap, just make it right the first time.

Similar story, but a working guitar really is just wonderful
If you are considering buying this guitar, I hope you are reading several reviews first. The guitar does feel a lot better than the Rock Band guitar (at least to me and all my friends, who started playing Guitar Hero before Rock Band ever came out) and I find the body shape of the Les Paul to be superior to the X-plorer wired controller previously available for the 360. As far as I can tell, the Rock band controllers are heavier and modeled more after actual guitars rather than controllers shaped like guitars, so the Les Paul doesn't provide the same realism that the RB controllers do...even so, the Les Paul is still a far superior guitar.

As others have said, there is one serious flaw with the guitar: the detachable neck can make the guitar stop registering notes. I bought my first guitar in the Guitar Hero III bundle from a third party seller on a popular auction site, and noticed right away that the red and yellow buttons were having an issue. I found several websites with potential solutions, and since I don't trust myself to unscrew the guitar parts and modify everything, I tried the simple "clean off the contacts" solution, which only made it slightly better. I was lucky that the seller had a very reasonable return policy, and though I had to pay to ship it back, they sent me another guitar that has worked just fine for the last 3 or so months. Though I am extremely happy with the guitar I have now, please consider yourself warned that buying the Les Paul is like playing Russian Roulette, and the odds aren't even that good. Make sure you know the details of the return or refund policy before you buy. But if you manage to get one that works, you'll be in great shape!

I wouldn't
I bought this guitar and when it came I was not all that impressed with it. After I used it for a while, I realized I didn't want it for two main reasons. The whammy bar did not work when I received it. Dreamgear would have fixed it under warranty but I would have had to ship it to them costing me , not too expensive but I would be paying for something that didn't work when I received it, Amazon took it back free of charge and covered shipping. The second thing that was just horrible is the amount of noise that the strum bar makes while playing it, you will hear every time you play every note, squeek, squeek, squeek, it drove everyone else nuts including myself. I recently purchased the logitech guitar for the wii and the difference in price equates to a lot better quality.

Perfect Guitar to use with Lego Rock Band
If you are thinking about buying Lego Rock Band for the Wii make sure you buy this guitar! Very fun to play!

Wii Shredmaster Guitar
Guitar mostly works great...I have small hands and using the larger buttons on the normal guitar didn't work well as too far apart to use more than 3 during a game. Only bad thing is that it makes a squeeky noise sometimes while using...not super loud but a bit annoying.

lots of fun
I bought this guitar for my son for Christmas to play Lego Rock Band on his Wii. We had a blast. The guitar worked well - the controller fits perfectly. It even has two sets of buttons - the regular set for older kids and adults and another set closer to the body for smaller children.

a great game for the whole family
My order was a success and shiped fast. The products were correct and safely shiped. I would highly recommend amazon.com as an online shopping site. Its safe and fun. I will use amazon.com again in the future for my shopping needs. The Wii game is fun and endless on the games out there to purchase. I just wish I had more free time to play. Have fun you gamers and enjoy...!!

Choice of Guitars
I bought this for the color! I had purchased a black one with no extras, but this is cool. I noticed, it's the one grabbed first.

Not working with GH5
no good for gh5.

works for

gh3
ghwt
rb2
ghsh
gh metallica (not sure if with gh aerosmith)

Great for Guitar Hero, notsomuch for Rock Band
I believe I reviewed this item when I first purchased it, but I recently invested in Rock Band 2 and would like to further comment. This Nyko controller has done me right on Guitar Hero, it's worked just as well as the controller that came with my game and for a substantially smaller price! Now, this controller is compatible with Rock Band 2 inasmuch as you can PLAY it with the game, but there is one issue.... you can't activate the star power (GH word, I forget the proper term in RB2). You're supposed to kick the neck up to activate the start power, just like in GH, but it just doesn't play nice with this controller and I can't get it to work. I wouldn't mind so much except that when we're playing in a full band and someone decides to try a setting a little more difficult than they should have, the person using this controller can't "save" them if they fail. Not a big deal if used as a second controller, but just thought I'd let you know.

Great price for a 2nd guitar
I bought this for my guitar hero. Needed a 2nd guitar, saw the price and bought it with really no real expectations other then it working. I found that it is more comfortable then the guitar that came with guitar hero, and have nothing but good things to say about this frontman guitar!

If you value your fingers, don't buy this guitar!
I, like many of you, purchased this guitar because the reviews looked decent and the price couldn't be beat. After about 5 minutes of playing, I packaged it back up and I'm sending it back. The buttons on the neck are so stiff, your hand will hurt after 1 song. Also, the + and - buttons are in a different place than on the original guitar, making it more difficult to hit blindly while playing.

Other than that, it's a nice guitar and seems to be pretty well made. The strum bar is a bit stiffer too, but I didn't mind that so much. If the stiff buttons or the placement of the + and - buttons doesn't bother you, then it's probably worth the money. But if you're like me and you're interested in playing the hard and expert levels, you'll never get there with this guitar. You simply can't move quickly enough in complex passages.

Wireless Guitar
This is the perfect beginner guitar. I love it. Meets my needs. Plays awesome with Beatlesrockband!

Works with Lego Rock Band
Great seller, fast shipment!! Works great with Lego Rock Band for my 10 yr old son.

Be very careful when ordering to make sure it's what you think
I purchased this item for my son and made the mistake of thinking it was the guitar made by activision -- it is an imitation or a knock off.

I had to return the product to the seller, who did refund my money promptly, but I had to pay to ship it to me and to ship it back.

This was an dollar lesson learned -- always make sure of the manufacturer before you buy -- the picture can give the impression you're buying the original but it can be an imitation.

Wammy-Bar Broke After First Day...
After seeing the high reviews that this guitar controller received before I bought it I thought "Why not, it's inexpensive and apparently it work well." Well I'm here to tell you, based on my experience, this guitar controller didn't live up to my expectations...

Initially everything was fine. The guitar looks just as good as the Activision guitar controller that came with Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii. The center yellow fret button was a bit harder to push than the others but after three songs I was getting used to it. Me and my daughter enjoyed playing against each other in battles to prove who was "King (or Queen) of the Ax."

It wasn't more than two hours into playing that I noticed the sounds of my notes were sounding strange - as if I was using the "wammy-bar" all the time. Sure enough, I was! The wammy-bar was stuck "on" the entire time. Nothing I did could keep it from un-sticking.

I sent it back to "Electronics & Video Games Accessories" the next day. So here I am out more than .00 of shipping expenses just because I wanted to save some money from buying the more expensive Activision model.

In short, spend the money and buy the real thing, the Activision guitar controller. My Activision controller hasn't broken with over a year of use.

Basic Wii Guitar Really Rocks!
This is a great Wii Guitar Controller and I really like it for two reasons: 1) it is affordable and 2) it works. It comes with rocker-inspired stickers that my kids appreciated, and it can be upgraded with any number of faceplates that are really expensive (in my opinion). Guitar Hero Rocks and this controller helps make it happen!

NOT COMPATIBLE with all games - only works with older games
This is a great guitar, but be aware it is NOT compatible with newer games, such as Band Hero. It works with most of the older versions of music games (Guitar Hero III, Rock Band 2, etc) but it doesn't work with the newest games. I called customer support about it and they said "too bad." They offered to replace the product if I paid shipping both ways (which is almost the price of the guitar new) but they said it will have the same problem. They said they know it's a problem and have chosen to discontinue the product, but that's it. If you only want to play older games, this guitar is fine. But if you want something that will work on current or future games, I recommend choosing something else.

JUNK
took 2 weeks to get it buttons are way to small and cant play guitar hero 5 with it to make it short and sweet hell if somebody wants mine i will let it go for 30 thats about all its worth

Love it
I bought this controller as a 2nd guitar for Rockband2 (I'm told it does not work w/Rockband1) for the Wii. I guess I got a good one because I have no problem with the action of the buttons (although they do travel further when you press them down than the original controller), and I like the feel of the strum and whammy, no issue for me either with the +/- keys... My only complaint is that the guitar is a bit small overall. The chamber on the back that holds the remote is nicely fitted w/a thumb release for the cord locking mechanism (instead of squeezing the sides). I like all of my Nyko Wii gear, this controller is no exception.

Problems with Guitar Hero 5 compatibility
We bought 2 of these guitars about a year ago to play with Guitar Hero World Tour and 1 of them stopped working after a few months. The other one is fine but does not appear to work with Guitar Hero 5. How annoying to have to purchase new guitars when a new version of the same game comes out!

Still Happy after a year
We bought this guitar last Christmas and we are still enjoying it after a year. It has survived a 7 year old and the rest of the family playing it. Of course it was a much better deal at ten bucks last year. I have not tried any other wii guitars but do not hestitate to buy this one.

Great additional guitar
Added it as an additional guitar for Rockband 2. Fast setup, and just like the one that came with the game!

Came fast, too

Hours of Fun
My teenager has the drums and this only added to the hours of enjoyment she has. She can add a friend and make a real rock band. She gets together with her friends and it is an instant party with fun and laughter. If you get the guitar I would recommend getting X360 drum set, too.

Cheap knock off
This guitar is a not as good as the original guitar that comes with the game. It is meant to look like the original one, but it is NOT. It did not work & had to be returned, I hope the replacement guitar works - we will see. You would be better off spending a few more dollars & getting a higher quility controller/guitar to save the frustration.

Great purchasing experience!
Purchased this guitar as an additional one to our existing Rock Band guitar. Price was very competitive and delivery was as promised.

The only pro to this guitar controller is that it is a cheaper substitute to the Standalone guitar for rock band which is excellent. I ended up buying one after I had this controller for about 3 weeks.

On to the cons. This guitar controller feels very cheap. The strum bar is obnoxiously noisy and squeaky sounding and is quite irritating during game play. The fret buttons need to be pushed down hard at times to avoid missing notes. This causes the fingers to get tired half way through a song. Third, the whammy bar on my controller stopped working completely after about 2 weeks.

I would highly recommend that you spend the extra 20 dollars and buy a Standalone guitar instead of buying one of these for the reasons I listed above. You will not regret it.

Metallica rulz
I bought this guitar to use it with Guitar Hero: Metallica in my PS3...

Excellent guitar, just like the one James use

Looks Good, Plays Bad
This guitar made it through the first song without a problem. Unfortunately, that was it. Starting with the second song ever played on it, the strum bar began missing notes. Even hitting the strum bar with slightly more force failed to produce consistent results, and by the third and fourth songs it was missing about two out of every three notes. If that wasn't bad enough, the fret buttons are rather soft and wobbly. More than once I missed a note simply because holding the fret button down wasn't enough; holding them down STRAIGHT was necessary to hit the note. In all, I was quite disappointed with this purchase. I did get my money back, however.

Pros: Classic design, nice sticker sheet, works with Guitar Hero and Rock Band for both PS2 and PS3 (just not that well, in my experience)

Cons: Buttons and a strum bar that don't consistently work, feels smaller and more flimsy than the regular guitar controllers, takes 4 AA batteries (twice what most controllers do), small strum bar

TAC GUITAR CONTROLLER
Works as well as the Kramer guitar controller that comes with Guitar Hero, but feels a bit more sturdy. Range is at least comparable. With PS2, it was simply plug and play. I have used it with World Tour, GH III, and GH Encore Rocks the 80s. Button location is different, but manageable. It has two sets of fret buttons, one being close to the body, which would probably be good for children. It comes with a belt clip you can use instead of the strap. It is Rock Band compatible, but I have not verified that.

Cons: The dongle is rather bulky, since it is wired with a PS2 connector and a USB connector. The guitar does not break down like the Kramer; that may not necessarily be a bad thing because the contacts between the neck and body cause problems with the Kramer.

Multigame compatible guitar
I got this guitar for my son for Christmas because he has both Rock Band and Guitar Hero. This guitar is compatible with both games. Now both of my sons can play guitar in each game. Well worth the money. Product seems to be holding up well.
