Relive, Rewrite and Redefine the History of WrestleMania
Since the first event at Madison Square Garden in 1985, WrestleMania has provided some of the most memorable moments in the history of sports entertainment. These moments continue on an annual basis with each new WrestleMania, but with WWE Legends of WrestleMania, fans both new and familiar with action in the squared circle can not only experience the defining moments and characters of classic matches from the eighties and nineties, but can also change history by reliving, rewriting or redefining them. So, whether classic WrestleMania action for you is the old school showdown between Andre the Giant and Hogan at WrestleMania III, the heated battle between "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and The Rock at WrestleMania XV, or anything in between, if you are a professional wrestling fan WWE Legends of WrestleMania is for you.

WrestleMania Tour Mode - The 3 "Rs"
In WrestleMania Tour Mode players are given a choice of how they want to experience the events of the first 15 WrestleManias. After a match is selected a short video plays detailing the history of the feud between the combatants and the outcome of the match at hand. You can choose to relive the match - play as the historic victor and win it exactly as it happened; rewrite the match - play as the historic loser and change history by winning it; or redefine the match - fight through an entirely new series of elements introduced into the match and defeat your opponent. Regardless of your choice you will be fed a series of objectives. Completion of these objectives earns players points, which contribute to the various PSN trophies accessible through the game. Players can also ignore the objectives and win the matches by whatever means available. Victory by either means will unlock the next match in the series. The choice of path to victory is yours in WWE Legends of WrestleMania.

More Than 40 Playable Characters
Covering fifteen years of WrestleMania history WWE Legends of WrestleMania comes packed with a wealth of characters. All told, players can expect more than 40 playable characters, both wrestlers and managers. Each character will have his own authentic personality, temperament, and signature moves. Just a few of the faces from the past that you can expect to see in action are:

Andre the Giant from 'WWE Legends of WrestleMania' Andre the Giant
The marquee wrestler of the 70s and 80s, at 7'4" and over 500 pounds, Andre was known as the "Eighth wonder of the world" and maintained a winning steak for nearly 15 years to prove it.
Hulk Hogan from 'WWE Legends of WrestleMania' Hulk Hogan
One of the most successful sports entertainers of all time, the Hulkster drove the worldwide phenomenon of "Hulk-a-Mania" as he captured the World Heavyweight title six times over 20 years.
Bobby 'the Brain' Heenan from 'WWE Legends of WrestleMania' Bobby "The Brain" Heenan
Debatably the greatest manager of all time, "The Brain" guided the careers of some of the best of all time and was a force to be reckoned with both in and out of the ring.
Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka from 'WWE Legends of WrestleMania' Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
Fijian superstar Jimmy Snuka was one of the most popular and often imitated wrestlers of his day for his mastery of aerial acrobatics off the top rope, which earned him the lofty nickname "Superfly."

New Combo Fighting Style

The grappling action here is arcade like, quick and easy and controlled primarily through the combined use of the joystick and face button controls with on-screen prompts indicating the exact input necessary to produce character-specific combos, taunts and signature finishing moves.

OH MY AMAZING!
I'm what you would call a wrestling fan noob. I grew up with no interest in the 'sport' but recently caught a Friday night airing of Smackdown on TV. I started really digging the over-the-top 'entertainment' if you will and decided a wrestlin' video game might be fun. I hadn't played one since the early 90's when they had button mashers in the arcades. I picked this one up because it was filled with classic wrestlers. It did not disappoint. You get to relive/rewrite/redefine around 30 classic matches from WWF/WWE history. The game is under now, I think I picked up a copy here on amazon used for about . If you have been on the fence about this one now is the time! A small warning, the controls may feel a bit 'clunky' at first but if you stick with them they really will remind you of a classic arcade game.

Not bad, but...
So I am way into 80's and 90's WWF (keep the F in!) This game brings all the classic superstars to your screen, with their ring music and entrances. So, that alone to me is worth the measly . The game itself is decent, but a better control scheme could've have made this game great. The controls aren't bad, but it can be difficult to control precisely what move your wrestler performs. The quicktime events are an ok idea, but I don't like the randomness. I want to feel in control. Sometimes, the control scheme can leave you feeling detached from the gameplay. However, other times the setup does create a nice back-and-forth typical of this era of wrestling. If you're nostalgic, buy it. Otherwise, I'm sure there are better games out there.

Great game if you are a fan of old WWF from the 80's and 90's
Review for the PS3 version of the game .
For the most part this plays the same as the 360 , however it does some grahics hiccups during the gameplay. I used to own this for my Xbox360 but have since gotten rid of xbox on account of being tired of getting the E74 error and having to send it in. Right away when I played the PS3 version I noticed that the ring color kind of flashes and there is a bit of blur everytime you hit someone. Also when you the matches are over the crowd closest to the screen looks like 8 bit characters. Also in the Rumble and Battle Royal your charachters have frame rate issues and their outlines look digitized for a split second. Nothing huge that you can't get used to but it sucks they didn't fix that for this obviously ported game.

Onto the game itself
-It is not a smackdown vs raw game, if that is what you were hoping for you will hate this game.
It is more like the old arcade games, kinda like a 3D version of Wrestlefest and WWF Superstars.
The roster is great , There are a few characters missing like Macho Man , Ricky Steamboat, and Demolition but they did get most of them.

This game is not perfect, but it is alot of fun and you can now buy it for brand new. It is also alot of fun to play tag team matches online.

Submission system ruins the game
In my first match, I was forced to submit from a simple shoulder lock. That's akin to tapping from a headlock. When has this ever happened in pro wrestling? Answer: never. These moves are not submission moves. They're wear-down moves. They give the wrestlers a chance to breath and go on with their performance. Shame on you THQ. After all these years, you'd think you would have remembered that. I mean, after all, they've figured it out in the Smackdown vs. Raw games. Why they dropped the ball on this, I don't know. THQ, contact me, and I'll act as a paid adviser for your next effort. This way, silly things like this won't happen again. Clearly, you need my help.

For old school wrestling fans
For fans of old school wrestling your going to get a kick out of WWE Legends of Wrestlemania it features 40 WWE superstars from the 1980's through the 1990's from Hulk Hogan to Stonecold Steve Austin. The only thing I was disappointed in were the controls, if your expecting this to control like the Smackdown! games then your in for a big disappointment. Rather be an easy pick up and play game like Smackdown! LOW requires you to press button to do wrestling moves whenever a cut scene appears on screen think if it as playing an interactive game. You can attack your opponent with punches and kicks but to do finishing moves it will require you to press buttons that appear on screen until they disappear. Its more like THQ wanted to make a quick time event wrestling game than a actual wrestling game. It will get most fans upset that they have to press a button screen to do a move like for example the leg drop from Hogan you run to the ropes then press a button to do the leg drop. It feels arcade like in a way similar to Acclaim's Legends of Wrestling which was pretty much the same concept but had more wrestlers. LOW is good for a rental its not worth as you have a limited numbers of wrestlers to chose from and matches you can have. A good thing I like is that if you have Smackdown! 2009 you can import your wrestlers to Legends of Wrestlemania which expands it. But in doing so you have to use the controls that LOW has. The career mode is pretty good you get to do three things relive, rewrite, and redefine. In relive you can relive classic Wrestlemania matches, in rewrite you can rewrite the actual outcome of a match by playing as the loser of the match, in redefine you can chose any wrestler and change the match type. You also have a Legend Killer mode where you take a created wrestler and go against the legends similar to mortal kombat facing 10 legends one after the other. Also another thing is no DLC for this game its something I wish THQ would of done to make it better. Maybe they can make a sequel with the Smackdown! engine next time. I only paid for this but if you really love WWE old school wrestling then you should rent this or at least try out the demo. It has Hogan vs Andre and will give you an idea of the actual game is.
