Choice of Guitars
I bought this for the color! I had purchased a black one with no extras, but this is cool. I noticed, it's the one grabbed first.

Not working with GH5
no good for gh5.
works for
gh3
ghwt
rb2
ghsh
gh metallica (not sure if with gh aerosmith)

Great for Guitar Hero, notsomuch for Rock Band
I believe I reviewed this item when I first purchased it, but I recently invested in Rock Band 2 and would like to further comment. This Nyko controller has done me right on Guitar Hero, it's worked just as well as the controller that came with my game and for a substantially smaller price! Now, this controller is compatible with Rock Band 2 inasmuch as you can PLAY it with the game, but there is one issue.... you can't activate the star power (GH word, I forget the proper term in RB2). You're supposed to kick the neck up to activate the start power, just like in GH, but it just doesn't play nice with this controller and I can't get it to work. I wouldn't mind so much except that when we're playing in a full band and someone decides to try a setting a little more difficult than they should have, the person using this controller can't "save" them if they fail. Not a big deal if used as a second controller, but just thought I'd let you know.

Great price for a 2nd guitar
I bought this for my guitar hero. Needed a 2nd guitar, saw the price and bought it with really no real expectations other then it working. I found that it is more comfortable then the guitar that came with guitar hero, and have nothing but good things to say about this frontman guitar!

If you value your fingers, don't buy this guitar!
I, like many of you, purchased this guitar because the reviews looked decent and the price couldn't be beat. After about 5 minutes of playing, I packaged it back up and I'm sending it back. The buttons on the neck are so stiff, your hand will hurt after 1 song. Also, the + and - buttons are in a different place than on the original guitar, making it more difficult to hit blindly while playing.
Other than that, it's a nice guitar and seems to be pretty well made. The strum bar is a bit stiffer too, but I didn't mind that so much. If the stiff buttons or the placement of the + and - buttons doesn't bother you, then it's probably worth the money. But if you're like me and you're interested in playing the hard and expert levels, you'll never get there with this guitar. You simply can't move quickly enough in complex passages.
